“The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily life”


   The speaker asserts that the study of history is valuable only when concerning everyday life. In my view, however, not only it is due to the relation between the past time and life , but also because of numerous materials and rich experience in any field of human endeavor contributing to human history, that makes the history ponderable.
   I concede to some extent, the historical data and materials related to daily routine play a significant role in modern society.
As a matter of fact, there is a vast history written about the same problems faced both by predecessors and contemporary generations, thus providing sufficient proofs of solutions that can be imitated or trails and errors that should be avoided. As a perfect example, after a large number of teenagers suffered from growing pain, the hippie subculture originally arose as a youth movement in the United States in mid-60s, the supporters of which established their own communities, used drug, embraced sexual revolution and listened to rock music. while this trend have long influenced the society of that time, teenagers today are not supposed to imitate what hippies do in respect of their bizarre wearing and the pessimistic way reacted to reality, for abused drug-taking and anti-society act may destroy one's life.
Regarding history as a mirror reflecting same problems like today's, people can maximize choice of their life by avoiding unnecessary growing pains.

However, under some circumstances, the speaker’s assertion only seek into the historical knowledge of everyday life may make no sense of situation today. To remain energetic, individual must challenge limitation and frameworks established by predecessors and cultivate personal way of solving problems he encountered with and thinking of manifold phenomenon today rather than copying the people living in the centuries ago.
To manifest this point clearly, here's a case in point.
As we all know it, women in history suffered injustice for a long time. If were not for Clara zetkin who break the rule that is unfair for women and fighting for women' right regardless how hard it was,
we can not imagine how insignificant and negligible the women's standing in society today will be.
Given the case above, no one will blindly follow the historic trend and disciplines long-been set up in the future.

   While the living aspect of history can offer us huge benefits, we can also find historical value regarding other respects in any field of human endeavor. All science, obviously, has its basis in the records of its history.
Study of the historical earthquake records in the
circum-pacific seismic zone with plate tectonic activity over the past thousands of years can provide valid data relating predicting time, location, and intensity of hordienal earthquake
occurrences.

   Accordingly, the historical records, whether in respect of scientific research or daily life or any other field of human endeavor, is of significant value to everybody today.
