新手，先自我介绍下哈~
大三，法学专业，本来打算报LSAT，后经朋友怂恿决定曲线前进，先读别的专业，拿到学位再考LSAT
于是一激动，急吼吼地报了传说中的GRE，2月24号机考
此前完全不知道神马是issue和argu……
英语底子勉强ok，很大的问题就是阅读和听力还行，写作是短板……输出很弱……
下面是今天花了一个多小时敲出来的处女issue，只有四百多词，恳请大家给些建议！！！还有十多天了……

103."The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives."

Undoubtedly, historians constitute minority of scholars in modern society however, we do have to study history throughout our almost-lifetime education. Is the study of history so important while most of which does not directly related to our daily lives? As cited from Francis Bacon, “Histories make men wise”, obviously this famous philosopher as well as educator did not make a clear division of history that whether it is relevant to the trifling matters occur around us every single day or not.
The speaker claims that the study of history will not be valuable if not broadened to make a connection with people’s ordinary life, which is basically right. From my point of view, the speaker must’ve somehow tried to argue about the mirror theory, which demonstrates that we could always stand in front of history and find out flaws of what’s happening. History has long been studied in the form of analyzing historical events and summarizing specific patterns, and of course, we should get current affairs involved. When problems come to us, there might be a historical figure coming right up to mind and we could always find ourselves inspired. As an old saying goes, “A fall into the pit, a gain in your wit”, since the predecessors set a pile of examples, the study of history is supposed to help us handle with certain situations.
This kind of dependence particularly lies in the field of science. Seldom have not heard of the famous phrase by Isaac Newton, “If I have been able to see further, it was only because I stood on the shoulders of giants”. Significant scientific achievement always based on illustrious researches of previous scientists. James Watt would never ameliorate the steam engine without Papin’s invention one century ahead, so did Zuckerberg, who created a whole new social network “Facebook” hinging on the mature and advanced computer technology.
Literature and art both play momentous roles in history effect either. An artist has to receive decent education from predecessor and comes into his or her own unique style before being prominent. Picasso’s famous for being not restricted in one rigid pattern without parallel, yet he cultivated solid strength by studying in Saint Fernando Art School.
Notwithstanding, the speaker’s declaration may still have its imperfection. The absolutization and partiality are clearly viewed over the assertion of “has value only to the extent that”. When we talk about the whole history-studying thing, we were actually talking about studying ourselves. We are the history, and we make history. After knowledge accumulation and judgment formation, it is supposed to promote the study of history to the height of theoretical, which doesn’t have to surround concrete incidents but be applied to universal events. Without seemingly unrealistic theory, history, the substruction of human development, would merely be told as fairy tales from cradles, generation by generation.
