History is consist of people, and also created by them which are included famous few individuals and also groups of people. The aim of studying history is to reveal the truth and trend. Only research one of them may be reach this purpose in some extent, but can not be comprehensive. But every study has its own limitation, because of lacking records of groups of people, historian always pay less attention of them. However, history should be revealed in different perspectives which can not only make up for the study drawback but also help to reach the aim.

History is not created by one or several individuals, individuals and groups of people both contribute to every event. The behaviour of famous individual is always conscious and group of people is usually spontaneous. Conscious individual who must depend on some social group could make history, spontaneous people need be guided by conscious individual such as political guidance. Without each other, conscious individual can not change the whole society, and spontaneous people can not form a strong powder in one direction and overstep daily life history.

Research famous individual in history has great meaning, amd Chinese historians have been aware of it for a long time. In field of Chinese history, historical records almost emphasis on famous individual. Either in the Twenty-Four Histories Regarded as official history, or in Records of the Grand Historian (Shiji), character biography which occupys a large pages plays a very important role in revealing historical truth. If you want to know about Chinese history, you'd better to know about Chinese historical figures first, my history teacher said to us.

Research group of people as an essential part in history is also needed in history studing. However, in the process of studying history, researching groups of people is more difficult than famous individual, but has less impact of result in society. Because people tend to remember famous people and record them events in oral or written form, there are less records of groups of people. Considering, famous individuals can well reflect history in the long time experience, groups of people can be studied for supplement.

In order to preserve historical intergrity to reveal truth and trend of history, historians should study many other factors such as economic, societal, environmental, and technological which are equally important to influence history change. For example, the Industrial Revolution introduced and spread technologies that mechanized many task, people have more time to relax or purse other things such as art. The technology has been changing people's life style all the time, and, meanwhile, people history has been created by it.

In sum, in field of studying history, famous individual have always been the centric of history records in some extent. Because of lacking material and document for groups of people and suitable study method, studying groups of people may have less effective result. History should be revealed in various perspectives, considering not only human factor, but also other factors such as technological factors could give a new breath for history study.
