Issue 120 So much is new and complex today that looking back for an understanding of the past provides little guidance for living in the present.
现在的生活日新月异，对过去的研究学习没有实际的指导意义.


   The issue of whether looking for a comprehension of the past can guide the new and complex present,involves a conflict between props and foes.I take granted that final judgement should be done based on a case-by-case analysis of the two situations.With regard to former stale thoughts,we should abandon them:on the contrary,for an accumulative knowledge and superior culture in the past,their value of guidance for living in present can not be denied.

Firstly,conditioned on rigid and hackneyed,even superstitious thoughts hold in past days,as the speaker asserts,can only be in the way nowadays,let alone to provide the guidance for today.That can be substantiated by the following reasons.

At the first glance,the opinion seems to be somewhat convincing,but further reflection tells me I can not agree with it absolutely.That can be demonstrated
in two aspects as follows.
On the one hand,Amounts of achievement nowadays are taken root on the basis of accumulative knowledge,after long-time trial-failure-trial experience.
The overview of aircraft is no doubt a case in point.
One the other hand,in the era of rapid and technological change leading to increasing life complexity and psychological displacement,it calls for our ancient's witness in guiding the proper trade.

In sum,from what we has been discussed above,we finally draw the conclusion that with the advent of democracy and liberty,the extent of impediment by former stale thoughts decreases,and more importantly,a accumulative knowledge and superior culture in the past can provide the guidance for living in present.
