The issue claims that true profound thinkers and highly creative artists are always out of steps with their time and their society. I quite agree with the issue. Though there are some exceptions that some artists and thinkers have been accepted and understood by the society of their time, most profoud thinkers and highly creative artists could not be understood by the public at their time and were concernd to be out of the step, because of the deepth of their thinking and the advanced form of expressing emotion in their works. Also, some of them also fail to relate their thinking with the complex reality of the society that also make them out of the step of time.
The deepth of their thought that is much more deeper than that can be understood by the public made the thought hardly be accepted by people on the society, especially for those profound thinkers. For example, most of us still found the thought of those profounded thinker such as Cont and Herger hard to be understood though it is the thought of many years ago. I have also tried to read the book of Hayec and tried to understand his concept, but I give it up after a quarter of the book is readen because I totally fail to get into the thought for it is great difficulty to understand it. Also, since the thought is hard to understad, the public may not spend enough time to try to learn it. Because of this, the thought of those thinker may seem out of step of the time.
For thinkers, it is the depth and advancement of their thinking that makes them hard to be understood by the public, for artists, it is the advanced form of expressing emotion. The drawing of Picasso and other artists of impressionism who concerns more about their own emotion instead of what was the objet like which was drawn by them makes us difficult to understand and accept it when it first come to us because we are not familiar with the straight forward form of emotion expressing and the drawn object which looks quite different with those drawn in former painting. This advanced way of expressing emotion makes us need time to be familiar with it in order to accept and understand it, with the form of expressing emotion always changing ahead of us.
Also, there is another reason that can possibly make the thought of thinkers not accepted by the public, which is that they fail to consider the  complex of the reality of the society. Owen, who created the Utopia without considering the fact that the labor force of the society is not advanced enough to support such a idealism society and the morality and ethics of the public also have not a high enough standard to fit for such society, failed after trying hard to support the Utopia for many years. Though the thought of him is advanced and somehow right, the failing of considering enough about the complex of the reality also make his thought out of the step of the time.
There is still some artists that have been accepted by the public. Mozart, Bach, Da Vinci and many other excellent artists have all been widely accepted by the public of their time, somehow as I concern is because that they express their emotion by a classic way, which is much easier to be understood by the public. Also, thinkers such as Karl Marx have also been accepted by the public and bring great changes to the world.
However, though the thought and the way of expressing emotion seems too advance of time, they both come from the present life of these thinkers and artists. Without the present life, those thinkers could development such thought with great depth and artists will have no ideas to creat those works. Life is the source of these thought and works. For example, all painting of Picasso comes from the ideas discovered in daily life. Thinkers like Cunt also develop their thought by thinking about daily life, just in much more depth compared with ordinanry people.So it is not quite right to say that these thinkers and artists are out of step of their time. In fact, everyone is with the step of their time and society.
To sum up, the advancement and depth of the thought of profound thinkers and the advanced and creative way of expressing emotion of creative artists makes them hard to be understood and accepted by the public of the time and makes them seem to be out of step of time. But, becaus their thoughts and works all comes from the reality and their present life, it is not quite right to say that they are out of step with their time and their society.
