17# younengmoba 经济确实是不好还有好多牛校不陶瓷没好推荐基本没戏，对于phd来说。有时候出身就是致命因素

出身好也是人家高中努力得来的吧。。清华北大也不是随便进进的啊。。。至于人家有没有游手好闲不是我们能judge的，admission的人自己会看的。the mere fact that they got in phd program in top universities with scholarship suggests they do have merits others don't...
我个人倒是觉得今年offer少是因为现在在美国的 chinese undergrad多了。。those ppl are counted as international students, just as chinese student went to college in china... everyone has to compete on the same ground.. somehow

另外这是题外话了／／美国其实事很看出身的。。。这个世界上很多人都有american dream情节，以为在u.s只要肯努力就能出头。。。可惜现在已经不是这样啦。美国的大学非常之贵，对于本国人来说也是如此，穷人家的孩子根本没多少机会上大学的。即使政府准备了蛮多loan的，不过都是杯水车薪啊啊。ivy只要事权贵的孩子都能进的去，而一般人家的孩子必须work their ass off才能有机会拼一拼的。。现在好一点的私立学校根不看不到lower class white american的哎。。现在class division很严重啊哪里都一样。。
