With and to sustain rapid development of science and technology, the society is in demand of variety of talent, which leaves more
opportunities for modern people to achieve their goals. Thus, I agree that people are more likely to succeed nowadays than in the past.



First and foremost, current society provides more opportunities.
Although there is a saying that the most of the secrets of the world have mainly been explored extensively and the principal problems have been solved. I, in reality, believe that there are more opportunities left for us. As one sage's metaphor goes on, known knowledge is like the area inside a circle and the unknown outside. Thus the more we master, the more things of mystery are waiting for us,
which creates more opportunities for us. For example, in the history of physics, though Newton and Maxwell consequently established the theory of force
and theory of electromagnetism, which are dominant for centuries and at time it is widely believed that there is no need to create new original theory, Einstein still found the unexplainable field of former theories, leading to Relativity Theory.



Second, the highly-advanced technology renders powerful tools. The
most typical one is computer. With the help of computer, we can find needed information in seconds which may cost our ancestors weeks,
even months. With the assistance of computer, we can solve the problems in different ways which are unsolvable in the time of our grandparents. With the help of computer, we can store our ideas in the computer, which is safer, more reliable and easier to revise.



Third, the open mind in the era releases the constraint of thoughts. In the past, because of fear of the punishment of Church, Darwin waited decades of years to public his masterpiece of Natural
Selection, which impends the development of the subject and the achievement of Darwin. History witnessed not only Darwin but also Copernicus, and thousands of scientists who give up the opportunities to succeed for the limit of their period.



In sum, present builds a more suitable environment to succeed with more opportunity, advanced technology and open mind. Moreover, success contains a myriad of uncontrollable and unpredictable factors, which may affect the accomplishment one obtains. However, generally, modern society, in my view, is a more suitable garden to boom fruit of success.
