People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.







Nowadays students in increasing numbers are inclined to attend college or university after their high school studying. As far as I am concerned, going to college or university may be not their own desire. There are lots of outside reasons driving them to do the things they don't want to.

The first reason why these graduates choose to continue their schooling is that ,they tend to live under the illusion that a high level degree can provide them with a favorable position in the future job markets.It is widely acknowledged ,along with the improvement of living standard , more and more people are able to afford to go to college or university.That means, the growing number of people will compete for one job in the job markets.One who does not have more advantages will not be able to get the position.In China, the survey has shown that there is one college graduate in eight people.So that is a high proportion in recent China society.Compared with the high school graduates,plenty of corporations express their desire to choose the college graduates due to their high level education.

What is more,a great number of students continue their study due to the pressure from their family.In the past decades,since the family economic problems or other policy reasons, lots of high school graduates could not go to college or university even they did well in their study. There is no denying that plenty of parents have a pity that they did not go to college in their minds ,which subsists for many years.Nowadays,even there is a little promise for them ,they will push their children to realize the dream they ever had.My parents are good examples.Since my grandparents could not go to college in their ages,they wished my parents do "A" in every exam.The day when my parents got the offer from a college was my grandparents the most happy day they thought they ever had.

In addition,there are some sheer facts should not be ignored.People who attend college just want to broaden their minds or enlarge their knowledge for the real interests in science,art or some stuff else.They devote lots of time and energy to their major,and achieve great achievements in their areas at last.

At last,even though people have various reasons to go to college,they contribute directly to the development of the whole society by using the science and knowledge which learnt from the college or university. Now we just hope in the nowadays society,people could be able to make their decision rationally,do what they really want to in regardless of others' requirements.
