不好意思,我第一次发贴,也是近期第一次提笔写作文,水平较次.不过不用轻拍哈
Do you agree with the following statement? It is only worth watching movies that can teach us something about real life?
Nowadays, with the high-speed development of film industry and the comfortable facilities in cinema, it is not the rare phenomenon for people to watch movies in cinema.
As qualities of movies are mix, such heated phenomenon attracts extensive discussion about the worth of watching movies. Some people worrying about the inferior movies hold the opinion that it is only worth watching movies that can teach us something about real life. However, this view has been attacked by many who deem it as unjustifiable and that is also what I think.
The worth is not the only motive for people to watch movies. Why so many people prefer to watch movies today? Apparently, answers are multiple. People who are depressed are willing to watch some laughable movies, such as Kong Fu Panda, to cheer themselves up; couples choose love movies like Love Story because they want to enjoy the romantic atmosphere; science fans are always enthusiastic in watching Star Wars for enjoying the fantasy scene in movies. For these people, movies should be watched for the reason that they can satisfy them rather than that these movies are worthy. Even a guy on whose hand time hangs heavy, without considering any merit of movies, can watch movies just for employing the idle time.
Furthermore, even though the worth is the factor that motivate people to see films, teaching something about real life is only a small part of the worth. Take the great film Titanic for example, as a noteworthy film in history of film, Titanic has impressed numerous people. Among the creditable movies, it illustrates that the most touching behavior and the precious virtue among people when they face the disaster, and that is its most outstanding value. We may not learn so much about real life from this movie, but we are moved by it and the spirit it depicted. The value of movies not only can be found in telling people about the actual life, but also can be seen in other points. Another example is that Avatar, one of the most successful movies, which shows the wonderful scene made by computers, is brilliant because it displays the striking technology in film industry. The examples above strongly uphold the fact that in a movie with good quality, people can find its specific worth.
Of course, we cannot pay no heed to that movies that teach people things about real life is valuable and worth watching. Spirited Away, an animation movie, is such a laudable movie that people can learn daily rules even in a little part of the plot. As the movie showing, we can draw the conclusion that we should not expect the sudden, unearned money from the event that workers were eaten by the man without face because of their greed. What's more, the movie depicted that Qian, not afraid of being stained, forced herself to clean the deity of river and then get the priceless fortune from the deity. What it tells us is that if we protect the environment against pollution, it may repay human in kind. People can always learn plenty of good features from certain movies, which is in actuality helpful.
It is not sagacious to accede that the only worthy movies are those that teach us things about daily life. And I can safely conclude that people can watch movies for any reason and that movies have an assortment of values. Most movies we can see in the cinema cause no harm, so maybe we can just sit down and enjoy them without measuring its value.
