Do you agree or disagree with the following statement：

It is more important for students to understand the ideas and theconcepts than it is for them to learn the facts.


    As a famous Chinese saying said, “Learn the concept of a fact, and you can dealwith the later", I do think the main idea extracted from an issue could bemore useful to the students.
    Since many facts may have much in common, studentscould learn the gist of the fact and be more flexible to use it in differentoccasions, and in that way, they could broaden their imagination and recognizethe world more efficiently.
    In fact, the inability to grasp the mainidea of the fact may limit people' imagination. Let's assume the student learnthe physical phenomenon, the gravity. He may learn the fact that the Earth hasthe great gravity and it could explain why the apple dropped on the head ofNewton instead of fling in the sky. However, he may not understand the conceptof the gravity, as a result, he may fail to find out why the planes are caughtin the solar galaxy rather than flowing to any place they want. That is to say,if the student only cares about the fact he gets, he may not be able to figureout why the other things may appear like that, nor find out the potentialmatters that would come out in the future.
    I'd like say example of the student may notbe alone, actually, many fields are longing for the main concepts of a fact, andthat is why so many psychologists are indefatigable in searching the axiom inlife. For instance, why people are happy? We could see the man laughing, for hehas accepted by a famous university, and then we may know the fact that beaccepted by the famous university could make people happy. However, we may notuse it in another situation that the man who is also very happy with therejection letter from the same university. In fact, the truth of happiness isthat people get their intrinsic desire accomplished, and if the two men abovehave accomplished their desire, they could be undoubtedly happy. Therefore, ifthe students understand the concept of the fact, he could understand the worldbetter.
   In sum, the facts we have learned may belimited, but if we could catch the main concept or the main idea of such afact, we could be more aware of the present or the potential facts and may haveour imagination broadened.
