求评论这个例子可不可以论证我的观点

求意见，我觉得这个例子可以论证的观点，不知道大家觉得逻辑上成立否？是issue中的一个题，伟人应该被后世评价还有同辈人评价。

（其中一段的观点）要论证"seeing how contemporaries review a person, reflects not only his characters, but also the socio-historical environment where that person lived in. Such information could be crucial for people who live after him to reach an objective evaluation.

例子：Van Gogh: not appreciated in his time, reflects the art preference in his period, (realism). Van Gogh’s painting is not appreciated because it didn’t fit into the artistic standard in his time. If not knowing this important piece of information, it would be almost imposiible for people who live after Van Gogh to view him as a pre-runner of impressionist and a precursor of modern art. This is his originality and his creation of a new art style makes him important. Therefore, judgment from both the contemporaries and people live after them are important and only by putting the two pieces together we will be able to obtain a whole picture.
