Some people follow the dream, although it is ambiguous, some people should focus to achieve the realistic goal.

With the fast development of economy and culture in modern society, people tend to have different values and outlooks on life. When it comes to the goal of life, some people tend to follow dream, others focus to achieve the realistic goal. From my point of view, people should concentrate on achieving the realistic goal for the following reasons.

First of all, the final result of realistic goal is practical and achievable. If we focus on realistic goal, it is clear enough for us to chase. Take the 100-meter run for example, athletes can see the final line is over there. What they need to do is to run as fast as possible, and past the final line as soon as possible. The final line is a realistic goal for athletes as it is achievable if athletes really take effort to run. On the contrary, the so called dream is, to some extent, unrealistic and ambiguous. If a child dreamed to be a superman, nobody knows how he can take effort to realize the dream.

What’s more, the method and experience for fighting towards a realistic goal can be learned. If you choose to set a realistic goal, there are many good models which you can follow. You can find a lot of elites whom you can learn from. As far as I see, it is called realistic goal because at least one people in the history has achieved it. When you are on the way fighting for your goal, you will not feel helpless as you can learn from those successful people who have achieved the same realistic goal. For example, if you want to be a software business leader, you can learn from Bill Gates who is regarded as the most successful software business leader around the world. In this way, you can feel energetic and full of hope almost every day.

Finally, the fighting process to a realistic goal can be well oriented and organized. To achieve a realistic goal, it is an effective way to separate the big realistic goal to small goals and try to achieve them one by one. For a college student, his realistic goal for a semester may be to get a good grade in his math class. In order to achieve the goal, it is a must for him to listen carefully to the lecture of math professor, do well in the homework and try his best in the final examination. Now a practical goal of getting a good grade is separated to three parts. What he needs to do is just to try his best to do well in these three parts. From this example, we can know that a realistic goal can be well oriented and organized.

From the above analysis, we can see that the final result of realistic goal is really practical. The method of fighting for a realist goal can be learned. And the fighting process to a realistic goal can be well organized. To sum up, due to the above mentioned reasons, it is a good choice to focus to achieve realistic goal rather than follow dream.
