If you met an(a) skilled fish man, and he provided you two choices: a fascinating fish he had captured or the skills of how to capture the fascinating fish. Which would you prefer? I definitely choose the later. This is the similar case of education of children. As parents, would you offer them the theory you conclude from your own mistakes or offer them the chance to let them conclude from their own mistakes? As the story in the begining, I prefer the later as well, say, parents should allow their children to make mistakes and let them learn from their own mistakes.

Giving the chance to let the children learn from their own mistakes is an（a） sustainable education both for the parents and for the children. The lessons learned from their own experience have far-reaching influence on the children’s whole life. Also, the parents can’t keep on preventing their children from making mistakes all the time. Take a common case of little child playing with electricity as example. The youngest cousin of mine is 2 years old this year and is curious about all the things around her. Last month, she became eager to touch the wholes on the electric panel. As we all know, it’s dangerous. However, no matter how many times we told her not to touch them, she just ignored. Then one day, my uncle let her to do what she wanted to and got ready for protection. Of course, the little girl was slightly hurt by the electricity in the electric panel wholes. All the families were shocked and blamed on her father for his ignorance on his daughter’s mistake. However, from then on, the little girl doesn’t touch the wholes on the panels anymore. And we all don’t need to concern the everywhere electric panel wholes anymore. The little girl learned from her own mistake and got educated by the misery experience, and the parents get librated from the job of keeping her away from the panels all the time. .例子很好地支撑了论点，学习了！！！

In addition, the experience for the children to make mistakes and take responsibility for their own mistake is good for their independence as well as sense of accountability. The case of my little cousin inspired my aunt and uncle and they started to change the way towards the mistakes of my cousin. After making several mistakes and through some hurt experience without any restrict before she made them, she became very careful when she want to try some new things. That’s the lessons she learned from the mistakes that she need to be responsible for the consequence of her own behavior.

To the final analysis, I agree with the statement that parents should allow their children make mistakes and learn from their own mistake. Just as the story in the beginning, this is a way to teach children how to fishing rather than to give them fishes.

The lecturer indicates that many scientists have problems with the points stated in the passage. They don't think those evidences showed in the passage are sufficient to prove that the dinosaurs are endotherms. The context stated by the lecturer is contradictory to the reading passage .


First, the lecturer puts the conclusion that discovery of dinosaur fossils in the polar region shows the dinosaurs are endotherms into question. She quotes the findings of some scientists which shows that the temperature of the polar region was much warmer than today. And when the polar region became
cold many dinosaurs hibernated because they couldn't migrate(好像是可以migrate啊。。). Therefore, the existence of polar region dinosaurs can't prove the dinosaurs are endotherms, which is contrary to the passage.


Secondly, about the leg position of the dinosaurs, the lecturer denotes that there is other explanation for the phenomenon that the dinosaurs' legs were underneath of their body. The explanation conceives that the position of the dinosaurs' leg was for supporting their large body, which can't be supported by the body-sides legs like crocodiles. This explanation weakens the connection between the leg position and the endotherms property of dinosaurs.

Thirdly, the lecturer talks about the Haversian canals of the bones of dinosaurs fossils. She admits that the Haversian canals do emerge on the dinosaurs bones. But there are also another kind of canals found on the bones that represents the slowing growth period. Since the Haversian canals represents the rapid growth of dinosaur, which is the representative of the endotherms which grow in high rate all the time regardless of the temperature outside. The co-existence of Haversian canals and another canals shows that the dinosaurs grown in a rapid-slow-rapid cycle, which is typical of cold blood animals.

Therefore, the lecturer totally refutes the point stated in the passage and draws her conclusion that dinosaurs are not endotherms.
