关于F1留学生暑期实习的手续

想趁暑假期间在美国找个实习的机会学习学习，身边很多朋友说暑期实习不需要办手续，在网上查也有不同的结果。有的说要办一个叫CPT的东西，但有一个帖子又把在美国工作的类别分成了OPT, CPT，和暑期实习三类。那么暑期实习（2～3）个月 是否需要办理特别的手续。如果要，是在申请到公司后再去办理，还是申之前就要办？

You would need CPT. Go to your international office and tell them your situation, they will tell you exactly what to do.

No matter what you will need:

- Register for a class that off-campus practice is permitted in the course description
- get a job offer before you apply. Offer first, cpt second.
- valid passport and I-20
- full-time student

don't use opt before you graduate.

如果是免费实习的话就什么手续都不需要，如果是有给钱的实习，申请个CPT就好了。
