按照SCORING GUIDE来考察,立论--组织(organization)+理由例子--语言四大方面,整体上不错。在4+上,只是开头那个模板式的套句,极度恶心。
Q:如何结尾?
A: 结尾段就是重申开关段的主论点呵。你的结尾漂亮。可是开头却说些不痛不痒的废话。
看看律师电影中结辩,或是辩论赛开头几分钟。【结合AW,你要学的是立论直接清楚;。不要学那些花架子哦。 】
TOPIC: ISSUE50 - "In order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level, all faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach."

Need the faculty work outsider the academic world, or someone might put as a tower of ivory, in oder to improve the quality of instruction? [For me, there is no such thing as definitely black and white,] and so is this issue.【这句话是废话!】 It depends on the area that the teachers actually devote in.【这一句也是模糊不清。建议看看英美报纸的editorials。首段要“清楚”表明作者的观点】【比如这一句“pragmatical experience is not the only resource for teachers enhancing the quality of instruction, the necessity depends on the characteristic of the study itself. ” 用这句开头;结尾段重申(restate)主论点时稍微改写,就是一个clear and insightful position。首段不要搞什么万能模板句的套子--想想看ETS花钱雇的readers一天看多少篇文章,多用那张生硬的万能句式--能不被恶心到吗?不信的话,再好好看看official guide to revised GRE 】
To begin with, it is a must to define what is a high quality of instruction. It is the basement of the statement and the ultimate objective with the topic. As for me, there is no such thing as standerd instruction method, but only the result of it that counts. So what we might take as a desirable result of teaching? It is the capacity building of the students. The concept be claimed, the methodology be taught, the curiosity for knowleged motivated. That is what, as far as I am concerned, we call a desirable outgrowth of high quality of teaching.Then, on the basis of already setting a criterion for it, we can focus on the topic that whether pragmatic experience could shed a light on the improvement of teaching quality, . As metioned above, it depends on the characteristic of the field which the teachers major in.
Firstly, for those quite rudimental and theoritical field, such as philosophy, physics, and so on, it seems that pragmatic experience would not contribute to much for quality of institution. For these disiplinaries mainly delve into the abstract and sophisiticated world. Pragmatical experience, even helping the professor himself to know more about the world, would not directly influence the instruction. Imagine, a professor who majors in Kant's theory or relativity theory, the lack of pragmatical experience obviously will not undermine the lecture its self. And it is also hard to find any work outside the academic world but still related to the two theory. Moreover, if, the teachers has put more time in working outside,the cost of this will be a time lag of the academic trend which is too expensive to neglect. And hence, the students will not keep path with the latest knowlege on their major. In short,a tiny piece of pragmatical experience is not of great necessity for a theoretical teacher.
Second, however, it is important for those teachers who major in communication or advertisment, accounting or public administration to spend some time working outside the academic world. The experience contributes a lot the teaching because not only the studies are based on the conclusion of experience, but also the knowledge that student aquired is to be used in certain area. The studies' characteristic of application make it necessary for teachers to work outerside the academic world. Only then, they can really and throughly understand the theories in the hemetic books, and they can gain experiencs and stories in job markets and working arenas. And they come back to classes, they could teach the students with the principles from the book more lively, telling them the actuall pragmatical skills and thus arouse the curiosity of the students and indeed improve their knowledgs.
All in all, pragmatical experience is not the only resource for teachers enhancing the quality of instruction, the necessity depends on the characteristic of the study itself. And one point is worth to mention at last sentence is , no matter what the characteristc of the study, the proper concern for the demotic world is in need for all faculty in their communication with the students, if they are to increase the instruction quality. |
