127.Facts are stubborn things. They cannot be altered by our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions.
II.分论点a.事实不因人的因素改变,只有以坦然的态度面对它,我们才能达到思想的成熟
III.分论点b人们对事实的认识误区:事实不是真理:因为事实是不全面的,分析整理后得出真理
IV.人类承认事实,但在追求真理的过程中不断超越事实
From the philosophical view, facts refer to all existing matters and objective situations and events, through which we can see that facts are stubborn things which are entirely separate from human minds therefore cannot be changed by our own wills. Yet many people misunderstand the meaning of fact, which may impede us on our way pursuing truth. Only with a correct attitude towards and a true understanding of facts can we take fully advantage of them and reach our destination, otherwise we may be bogged into the morass of self-deceit.
Facts are stubborn and that makes facts what they are. Emotionally, we do not want to acknowledge that a beloved person of us has passed away, but that is a fact; From our inclinations, we may refuse to accept that our respectable sport champion becomes old and is beat by a nameless young candidate, but that is a fact; By our wishes, we would rather hold that we mankind are at the center of the universe and forever with the domination than believe that we are just a tiny part of it, but that is a fact. These are all unchangeable facts and obviously will not compromise to our passions, tendency and wishes. But we can certainly change own attitudes towards them. We cannot detain our forefathers, but we can cheerfully welcome the new lives; we may sometimes sigh for our aging idols but we can forever keep their heroic images in our hearts; we may feel we are naive and weak now, but we know we can become stronger in the future. Only when we accept all these facts in calm can we truly gain mental improvement and maturity. And that is where our courage and intelligence as human beings lies.
However, there is a common misunderstanding of the word “fact”. Because of their unchangeable nature, people always tend to confuse truth with facts and believe that facts are equal to truth. Actually, facts most often reflect or expose certain aspects or segments of truth. People may sometimes argue about a “truth”, but what they really contend about are their own facts which are just partly true and not complete or consummate enough to lead them to the real truth. A Chinese old conte may demonstrate the point. A mother told her two little boys to observe the moon. Half a month later, she gathered them and asked what the moon was like. The older boy said that the moon is curved like a hook; while the younger boy immediately argued that it was round like a plate. Obviously both of them are telling the facts, the divergence comes from the different times they chose to observe. When considering both of their results we may obtain our truth: the moon looks different according to different times. Thus we see that facts are far from our destination of our way to truth, but rather our gangway to it.
An irony about the relationship between us human beings and facts is that though we always persuade ourselves to accede their stubbornness, we have been unceasingly tried to go beyond them in order to reach the real truth. The molecules theory brought an end to the long-lasting debate over whether a certain matter can be further divided and had helped us enormously explain many scientific mysteries. But that is not enough. Scientists decided to march on along the way to new facts and thus came the new theories of atom and electron. By the same token, the seemingly undoubted fact that a male and a female create a new life is breached a hole by the first successful case of cloned sheep at the end of last century. Encouraged by the past discoveries and achievements, also accustomed to the frequent astonishments brought by the rapid improvement of science and technology, people become less quickly to accede the present facts and more likely to prospect the future ones. Nevertheless, we are not to blame of our curiosity and doubt because of which we proceed.
To conclude, facts are stubborn but human not. We can change our attitude towards them, manage to avoid any misunderstanding of them and utilize them. Facts cannot be altered by our wills, but that does not matter, they will ultimately serve us, and that is the point.
总结:
