hey LZ, I read many of your posts/comments in GTER Business, your comments are precise and trustable, your story above is inspiring, may I request you to share more details about your background? Like TOEFL, GRE/GMAT, GPA ... if you do not mind, can you please also share a bit more about how you find a job in US? I got my BE in China and MSc in Singapore, so far I have been working here in SG for 1 year in electronics industry, I also have interest in Finance area... so I am interested in you and your stroy...:lol
Thanks for your warm feedback to my comments.
I identify two critical questions from your previous writing.
1)How to get in top Finance Programs in US?
2)How to survive in financial industry in international marketing?
My short answer to the first question:
Given that you can meet the minimum test scores, you should provide evidences from your academic and work experience which can distinguish your candidacy from other applicants and prove your fit to philosophy of specific finance program.
My short answer to the second question:
Due to your weak background in finance training and experience, your top priority should focus on building a link between your quantitative skill from engineering education and your passion of contributing to the finance industry.
By the way, a tip of financing your future is to polish your international communication skill by which your need to speak English in a concise and professional manner.

Hi LZ, thanks for your sincere suggestions, I do need to improve my finance background as you said, I have been thinking how to improve, I have below two rough plans:
1. Try to apply full-time MSc study in Finance in Singapore as Singapore has 3 universities with good reputation in Business, NTU, NUS and SMU.
2. To prepare for CFA Level I test in the spare time of my work, I am not sure whether I can find a job in finance industry or not with Level I qualification, if yes, then I can continue to prepare for Level II and Level III test while working in finance industry.
LZ, you are an expert in finance, could you please give me some advices? Thanks very much!
In Asia, the first choice for most ambitious finance applicants would be HKUST which has world class training and reputation, and there is best developed individual and institutional finance marketing in Hong Kong.
It is a smart decision to start your finance adventure through preparing for CFA that could deepen your knowledge and strengthen your confidence of developing career in finance industry. I may offer two tips.
1)Keep reading some financial magazines and newspapers to sharpen your financial mind.
2)Investing some money in international stock marketing to test your responses to money lose and win.
