Movies and television have more negative effects than positive effects on the way
young people behave


In this day and age, people, especially young adults, in every corner of the world, watch movies and TV series, talk about them and even imitate the plots. When it comes to the opinion that movies and TV programs have more negative effects than positive effects on young people's behavior, personally, I disagree with the statement.

Admittedly, some movies，which are full of bloody or violence plots, do negatively effect young adults' behavior. There is no doubt that sometimes, such movies have more attractiveness to the young, because they think those violent plots are interesting, which can make them excited and offer them a visual pleasure. As a result, if a young person sees many violent movies, they will probably imitate the plots, such as driving after drinking a lot and even fighting with others. Therefore, in such cases, the violent movies can have negative effect on the young's behavior.

However, the statement that all movies and television have more negative effects on the young's behavior does not hold water. For one thing, there are a lot of interesting and educational movies and tv programs which can amuse the young and even contribute to the young's life. For instance, my brother, Lin, a 18 years old boy, like watching a famous TV series The Big Bang Theory. He likes all the characters as well as the very funny plots and dialogues. He tells me that those funny guys often make him laugh, help free him from the studying pressure, and most importantly, the main character-Sheldon's talent and intelligence stimulate him to work harder. Also, some TV programs such as the famous "Discovery" series, tell me a lot of geographic sceneries, most of which I am not familiar with, and thus it can enrich my horizon and give me more access to the new things, which let me think more about the world.

For another, I think the society and the adults should be responsible for the movies and tv programs qualities, which means that the program and film producers should make and produce more movies and televisions that are suitable to the young. For instance, they can produce more tv series about the campus life or how to be successful and so forth. As a result, the young will learn good things from the increasing number of high-quality films, which will absolutely promote and enhance their behavior and personality.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The main purpose for people
who have jobs is for money rather than social status

In this day and age, people, almost in every corner of the world, have to work and suffer  
from the numerous pressure. When it comes to the opinion that people work mainly for money  
rather than social status, personally, I disagree with the statement.

Admittedly, a better income is a strong drive for us to have jobs. Undeniably, nowadays,  
people have to face a lot of pressure from every and each aspect of life, such as raising  
kids, paying their tuition fees and affording the daily living expenses, most of which are  
closely related to money. Also, everyone wants to have a nice job which can offer him a  
high income due to the increasing commodity price. As a result, people have to work hard to  
make money and even want to be promoted to get better paid for a stable and guaranteed life.

However, the statement that people work mainly for money rather than social status does not  
hold water. For one thing, striving for a higher social status is an indispensable part in  
our work. Social status can represent one's personal identity and career achievement. If we  
work hard and try our best to do our job, we will probably get promoted to a higher  
position, which means work can offer us a great opportunity to be transferred from  ordinary  
people to a higher social class. For instance, my dad is doctor in our city hospital. When  
he first graduated the medical school and entered the hospital twenty nine years ago, he was  
just a intern and was always forced to do extra work by the residents. Now, he is a  
resident and never have to be asked to do anything from his colleagues and also he obtain  
a lot of respect from the patients which brings him a great reputation. In other words  
words, people can improve their social status by working hard on their jobs.

For another thing, if people only focus on how much they can earn from the work, the work  
will become boring and meaningless, and most importantly, people will miss a lot of things  
such as good relationship with others, a long-term development in their career. For  
instance, if a person only think about how to make money, they will ignore his workmates,  
and thus others will gradually be away from him. Also, if a person only pay attention to  
his salary now, he will not be able to consider other factors, such as promoting his  
knowledge and communicating skills, which can contribute to his success in his career, and  
thus it is impossible for him to get promoted and make progress in his job.

In sum, with the above reasons, I believe that people work for a lot of things rather  
than just money.
