Do you agree or disagree with the following statement. People who cannot accept the criticism from others will not be successful at working in a group.
With the ever-accelerated pace of competition in modern society, in order to be successful in working in a group, people need to work with others, holding the same goal, facing the similar difficulties and exchange ideas with teammates. So, when speaking about whether refusing other’s criticism may lead a failure, I strongly agree with the idea.
First of all, if people are willing to accept other people’s criticism, it means that they are capable to face their weaknesses and make changes on them, these actions help them in improving work efficiency and planting a seed for success in the future. Take myself for example, I made a lot of mistakes in writing a simple computer programs at the most beginning of learning program. My officemates often laugh at my messy codes, but they also gave me lots of methods about my program. I thought their suggestions over and over, carried tests and finally applied them into my program, by doing so, my simple program had good performance. What’s more, this helps me succeed in writing a more complicate program now.
Furthermore, the normal form of working pattern is cooperation in the same project. To survive in the fierce social competition, it is barely for a person attaining his goal without other coworkers' assistance. Take a department co-worker for example, with the support of his staff and he gets the opportunity to be successful in a project, and such phenomena are pervasive around t the entire city, people who are capable of receiving criticism will benefit tremendously.
Moreover, people who don’t accept opinions from others would probably be isolated by their teammates. For example, a team member who does not allow his plan to be revised would not be acceptable by other co-workers, therefore, it becomes impossible for them to achieve the same goal, so what other team members will do is to separate him. If one gets abandoned by his or her cooperators, it is equal that he or she goes astray form the routes to success.
In a nutshell, it is important for people working in cooperation be able to accept criticism, it is a way to achieve success.
