请问什么是honours student？？？

在MUN网页中看到一个prof，研究的领域让我挺感兴趣的。。但是在position部分看到他支招honours student。。。请问什么叫honours student呀？与MSc，PhD student有什么不同呀？

我前几天发邮件说有兴趣读他的MSc他木有回复我，今天才看到position中的这个要求的~~~

中国授予学位的时候没有分Honor还是非Honor，所以这个问题很难回答。

4 yr degree is not sufficient to an honor degree, but necessary.

Generally, an honor requires some specific requirements, besides courses and credit hours. For example, for a BEng or a BSc, an honor student has to earn much more credits than an ordinary bachelor, to do a project, a research for at least a whole year (senior year) and write an honor report (will be at publish-able level).

3 yr is not a "Bachelor", but just a "associate bachelor". It is not enough for applying Master. That is why you can see most graduate schools point this out.

If you want to apply for a master, you must have a 4-yr bachelor degree.
However, some countries define thier 3 yr bachelor (like France? ) are equivalent to others, and some schools do accept this.
The second case is in the western education system, you can easily finish the 4-yr degree in 3 yrs. This is fine since you finish the requirement for a 4-yr degree.

谢谢你好专业的回复，那请问国内大四在读，明年毕业的话是四年bachelor，那请问我算不算honours student呀？

honestly, universities in our homeland do not distinguish, or differentiate from the degrees (Based on what I know) . The only they offer is "bachelor". SO I would better just say I am a bachelor.

The "honor" is just for applicants from Canadian Universities.

I dont think you have to worry on this. Dont need give a shit.
