1.9号的作文练习题目
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Does advice given by older people more valuable than from people your age?
One year ago, I had a chance to join in a NGO, called XXX,and teach in rural china for two years. It was really a really valuable opportunity for me, as with the faith that every child deserves excellent education, teaching in rural places and helping had been my dream for a long time.Though it was a good chance for me to pursue my dream, it also meant that I had to give up my job in Nanjing as well as the potential opportunities provided by that job,and live in a less developed place with a very low salary. What would I do? Standing at that corner, I was kind of being lost. It was advice form people at my age that helped me to do make a decision of joining in XXX. Thanks to their valuable advice, I have been doing the thing I have passion for and I can gain achievements from. I can not imagine without my friends' advice, where I was now and how depressed I was. This is not only my case. Advice given by people at similar age is indeed more valuable than that given by old people. The peer has more knowledge of the problem, can think about the problem more considerately and communicate with me better, helping them to make valuable advice.
With the development of our society, there is increasingly new knowledge which is widely spread among young people, while much old knowledge is only known by the old. In this case, people at my age with similar knowledge as me can analyze my problems better. How could my parents offer me advice whether I should join in XXX if they totally had no idea about what NGO was? How can I gain advice about which cellphone I should buy when old people around me do not know much about the cellphone? If old people tend to have no knowledge concerning my problems, how can they give me useful advice? Instead, people at my age do have such knowledge, which is essential to good advice.
The peer does not have knowledge in need, but also can understand me more and then think about questions more considerately. Though old people have more experience, they usually only consider a question from limited aspects. For example, my parents only take stability and salary into consideration when they try to give me advice about job. However, my friends, which are at similar age to me, know what I want is more than those, and understand my desire for personal improvement and helping others. As a result, they will make considerate advice in light of these elements.
Besides, I can communicate my idea freely with people at my age, while I get nervous easily in front of people older than me, especially when talking about my problems. So it is really difficult for me to state my problems and clear my feelings well to old people. Without this information, they would be unlikely to give valuable advice. Instead, people at my age can obtain such information through good conversations, which is full of importance to decision making.
The three factors discussed above can help people at my age comprehend my situation better, then they can analyze it by using related knowledge, which contribute to making valuable advice.
