A company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory near your community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influence on your community. Do you support or oppose the factory? Explain your reason.

The community I live now is a mature community which stands in a region designing for living. Most people here have their own jobs in the other area of the city. Peaceful and comfortable feelings are the tone of communities here. If there will be a large factory locating near my home, it does bring us some benefits. However, the negative influence will deserve more concern.
On the one hand, it looks good if we have a large factory outside our community. First of all, factory is the sign of financial income in most cases, which often results in the determination of the local government to develop industrial regions. Stable production, technological facilities companied by numerous products, especially some chemical industries which are the basis of the whole production chain, makes it profitable for highly increasing local economic. Secondly, a large factory often guarantees a variety of jobs. Those who seek for jobs can have more chances.
On the other hand, a factory makes things worse. Since my city aims at developing the third industry which is also called the service industries, all the factories have been settled in a special district at a distance from the city. It is impossible for one factory earn the right to construct here. Apart from that it disobeys the city designing, civilians’ protesting about the environmental pollutions, including water pollution, air pollution, and the noise disturbance, will surely stir up people’s negative reaction. One possible result is that the factory moves to another place under the stress of civilians living around it.
In a word, building a factory near my community seems lead to much disadvantages than benefits. However, if an area’s population lives hand to mouth, there is no better method than set up a factory to help the region get rid of poverty. Whether it is good or bad to have the factories depend on the places where it locates.
