NTU的phd申请可以申几次？遇到点囧况了

我今年申NTU的CS phd，主要方向是Computer Vision，什么PS，CV，都是主要往这个方向去写的。

本来申请都快做完了的，但是最近碰到一个做Program Languages的老师，发了封陶瓷邮件，附上了CV，这个老师回复的是这样的

thank you for your interest. I am indeed looking for a PhD student to
start working with me in autumn this year. I have received your CV. Can
you send me a copy of your university transcripts as well? I would also
appreciate it if you could write a brief statement of interest
explaining why you would like to do your PhD with me in particular. You
may want to refer to my homepage for a short overview of some of my
recent projects.

这个我也不知道是什么情况，没有任何意味啊，要成绩单和statement这些的，在坡国的陶瓷回复里，算是什么态度呢？

总结下来，我想问这么几个问题啊
1；大家看看这老师的态度是啥样的，是陶瓷模板回么？是的话我也懒得写statement了
2；NTU的phd可以申两次吗？也就是说我Computer Vision方向申一个，Program Language方向申一个呢？

是的，俩都是，一个是computer vision方向，一个是program language方向

Does not matter which direction you have applied, you only need to send the documents that this prof mentioned to him, he will access based on your motivation and academic merit.

成绩单好弄，关键是他这个方向跟我一点不match，我了解的也非常之少，ps可咋写，哪来的motivation啊

That is why the Prof asks you to write a statement of interest, since your direction does not match his research, then I suggest you focus on your own area.
