顺便问以下本版发帖一定要以附件的形式么?

We can usually learn much more from people whose views we share than from people whose views contradict our own, disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning.

The argument states that since disagreement causes conflict and therefore inhibits learning. This argument however, is seriously flawed, because it fails to consider other aspects of learning. First of all, it will be annoying if you are trying to memorize something and some holding a different opinion is sitting around and negates every single sentence you say. However, learning is very different from reciting. People learn not only through memorization, but more importantly through discussion and reflect. In this light, learn from people whose views contradict our own will be more helpful.
Most conspicuously learn from people whose view contradict our own encourages thinking from different perspectives. People have different education background and life experiences and therefore look at problems from different perspective. An example can be cultural differences. People from different cultural background sometimes hold view problems through different scopes. Take an example, punctuality is widely viewed as a virtue in the Western society. In formal situations, such as a business meeting, being punctual is often viewed as a must. However, punctuality is not as much emphasized in many countries such as India. Although Western people may think India people’s concept of time unacceptable or even rude. For Westerners doing business in India, it may prove extremely useful to learn it from the locals. In this way, many conflict and negative emotions can be avoided.
Moreover, every point of view should have some reasoning to back it up. Therefore ideas that contradict our own should have support too. And, as proven by psychological researches people firmly believes in one idea may often ignore evidences that negate this idea (and sometimes obvious and important ones). Therefore, learn from people who hold a different idea may help identify the weak points of our own idea. And as often said by the wise, finding the weak points and fix them is the easiest way improve. In this light, conversations between different ideas are often find given birth to better and more comprehensive ones.
And last but not least, because, as the statement argued, “disagreement can cause stress”, people are being pushed, or forced, to think. Thinking, in many cases, is a painful process. However, often the most brilliant idea can only be concluded after days, and even years of rigorous thinking. And people by nature, is a creature that likes to procrastinate, are indolent. Therefore, having sometime around that always find fault with your idea may be annoying, but it is at the same time helpful by pushing you out of the comfort zone and forcing your to reflect and improve.
To sum up, the statement is legit by saying that disagreement can cause stress. But the rest of it is too narrow sight as to neglected many positive effect of learning from a person whose views contradicts your own. In this light, the statement is flawed and does not offer much insight on learning.
