今天上网来这里看见版主说这段时间比较冷清,想到以前在这里得到很多帮助就想作一点贡献,发现U盘里面有一篇以前帮别人改的文章和自己考G完后写的一篇,就一起发了上来,虽然我的水平不高,还是可以给新来的借鉴一下.(我修改的那篇见另一贴)




考完G后在一个G友的鼓动下重新开始写GRE作文,这是上周末写的:

22 "Many people believe that a few individuals or small groups (family, friends, teachers, celebrities, for example) have caused them to think and behave in the way they do. Yet it is always society as a whole that defines us and our attitudes, not a few individuals."

As social beings, it is true that we are inevitablely more or less affected by the culctures and costoms of our society, both in our behaviors and inner mind.  However, this argument seems to exagerate the role of social environment as a whole in forming the individuals' personality while it ignore the  crucial factor which gives more credit to that process-the community power-the effect from small groups such as our families, friends, teachers and so forth.

Admittedly, we are under the influence of our social atmosphere as a whole, and those small groups(family, friends, teachers, celebrities) just act as the carrier of the conventions that transfer the epitome of the social spirits to us, to such a extent, we have to admit the fact that it is the society as a whole rather than those small groups that defines us and our attitudes. However, when look deeper into the matter, one should also acknowledge that more times than never,  it is also those small groups who misrepresent or ameliorate the social spirits due to their own specific experiences , and this makes striking differences in forming the personalities they influenced. this is also where the diversity of the society derive from.  

Retrospect the past and introspect into ourselves, one will find that there are some "milestones" during his growth, and it is those unique milestones that finally forms the unique persons and personalities: noble or immoral, introvert or extrovert, optimistic or pesimistic and everything like that. let us recognize that all of these milestones are some significant events which involved one or more persons who plays as the key factors, we could often hear an celebrity retrospect like this:"it is my father who ignite the interest in my heart and I finally go on this way......","not for my dear teacher***, I would still be street singer and achieve nothing......... "we could also hear a repenting criminal complains like this:"it is my fucking friend***who light up the first drug for me and that's where I falls down....".......all of these has shows and is repeating the great power of those small groups in forming our personalities.

Arguers may insist that all of these small groups are also exist in and influenced by the whole society as a whole, they are just reflections of the whole society. so the persons and personalities influenced by the small groups are actually defined by the whole society. This plausiblely cogent statement is in fact distorting a crucial point: the small groups actually reflect the society, but not the whole! the whole society is really a big complex consists of thousands of goods and bads, and no one can explain it out in simple words. but a small groups is much more easy to be defined as good or bad, they are not the replication of the society, rather, they filtered something from the society and only transfer the part which is in accordance with their own mind. the social convention and ideas become concrete through the transfer of them. and that is how the crucial issue comes that one should go to good teachers, make good friends and so more probably become a good person. and avoid getting access to bad community to reduce the probability to corrupt.

In all, I'll admit the society as whole does play a role in forming a person and personality, but the community power is far more important in that process as it is the concrete representation of the society and influence the persons directly

最近习题库会逐渐整理，如果需要找文章也可以去那里。需要提醒的是请在发帖子的时候注明题号，而且[B]在帖子开头把题目按照issuexx : ...... 的格式写出[/B] ，这样斑竹和网友查找起来会方便许多。

因为斑竹的整理难免挂一漏万，也希望大家能够尽力支持，推荐或者转帖一些好的文章（好象是斑竹的工作唉，汗……/blush）我们会尽力把他们放置到相应的位置上去。而且现在每天帖子很多，其中高质量的文章和讨论都会尽快归类进去，以方便查找。不要吝啬手中的优秀习作哦^_^
