issue123:It is possible to identify a person's politics within a very short time of meeting him or her.Everything about people----their clothes, their friends, the way they talk, what they eat----reflect their political beliefs.
In some countries, political powers are so influential that they are embodied in populace’s quotidian lives, such as Islam to some Arab counties. Whereas, in many countries, political believes are hardly immediately perceived unless one specially investigate it by visiting some special places or by other special way.
Islam is one of the most important religions for many Arab countries, such as Iraq, Egypt. We can obviously observe the influences of it, in these countries, during their daily lives: People wear the same special style of clothes, make the same gestures and postures and mutter the same words while praying, go on the same religious rituals when some important events happen, such as funeral and marriage, and worship the same divine even though they are different countries. The spirits of Islam influentially direct people’s thinking: they pray the divine’s help when they feel sad confronting difficulties that they can’t solve, and they believe that the more respect to the divine, the more bliss they will get from it, so they pray and express esteem to the divine almost every time before doing something. Historically, religions have significant influence for a country’s political situation for they are often the instruments of ruling class to bundle the thought of civilians in order to strengthen their government. For these countries having similar situations to Iraq and India, others can easily learn about the political believes of people by only superficially observing their appearances.
However, in many countries, it is difficult to discern people’s political believes very soon especially for those in which multi-culture is melded together. For example, America is of the culture combining characters of various politics or religions. People are submerged in it and especially the youth might even choose one style as their hobby, for example, one clothes fashion, similar to the gown originated from Christianism and specially used in churches, whose special meaning they don’t truly understand but which they consider one part of popular culture, and at the same time, another clothes style, one character of another religion or political group, completely different from christianism, might be accompanying it on one person. Others surely feel puzzled what political area is this people attribute to on earth? The only answer to this is that there is no any relationship between the dress and the political belief of that person. Sometimes it might make a mistake to speculate the political belief of one person just by one’s appearance.
Another persuasive example is Einstain to whom one can’t make any correct criterion based on his appearance. He was a sloppy person on seeming, but it is all known that his scientific knowledge was wide and abysmal, and others also can’t imagine his once action just from his appearance that he took a one-million dollar check as a bookmark, and at last the check was lost.
To sum up, on some conditions, especially almost all characters of one particular political or religious group embodied, it might make a possible correct speculation about the political belief of those persons from their clothes, food, action and so on. However, in this modern, culture-melded world, the possibility of making a false criterion about a person’s political belief just from one’s appearance is very high. |
