‘what we call progress is a matter of exchanging one problem for another.’

   In the era of rapidly growth in technology and science, a number of people begin to concern on the issue of human progress. The statement launches the issue that exchanging one problem for another is progress of human in what we call today, nevertheless, in my opinion, although the issue is fundamentally right, it also suffers from some critical flaws that other factors can influence the progress.

   On one hand, the matter exchanging is a kind of procedure that usually make the problem much more difficult than before. Admittedly, at the beginning of problem surfaced, it is easily to create a simple question that mentioned from the people’s imagination, without any more complex configuration on the deeply thought. However, with human’s further thinking on this problem, the question will be complicated largely. From a simple idea to a fulfill thought, this is a rapid progress for human in the field of thought.

   On the other hand, the matter exchanging is a kind of form that gift from one problem to another. Through out human history, it was full of examples that can express this. For instance, on the challenge of the notion that Earth is a fix position and the center of universe, Copernicus continually insisted that Sun is the center of the universe with the exchanging idea with Galileo who was also a famous scientist in the ear of Copernicus. Later, Newton who was the most excellent scientist in typical physics discovered the existence of gravity, and meanwhile, all the recent sciences are based on the theory. This illustrates that one simple discovery will lead to some new findings in the same field or other realms.  Problem can be exchange from one to another.

   This matter from one to another, or from simple to complex is an improvement of human thought, also the evolution of human society. As a matter of fact, human society has experienced the entire procedure of this changing. As the saying of Confucius, the ancient Chinese philosopher (I paraphrased), “human history has evolved at first physically and later culturally, and we also accompany to the challenge of simple issue and complete them with difficult aspect. Moreover, human usually connects one to another.” This has pointed out the value of exchanging problem from one to another.

  Admittedly, we have to concede that progress we have mentioned before is not totally attributed to the matter exchanging, there are too many other factors to be related.  As an anthropologist, the progress in human society should be concentrated in more issues. For example, whether people always legends the question from one to another, or change the way to complete one, then seek another issue that still puzzles our human life. In other words, the real progress is not only in the extension of old problems, from one to another, but find a better solution of the former one

  To sum up, human progress we can call today is not oversimplified to attribute to the matter of exchanging from one problem to another, as a matter of fact, we should concentrate to more factors that also directly or indirectly influence the progress of the entire society.

???最后这句话我就又摸不着头脑了.猛一看象是自相矛盾,细看又不是:From a simple idea to a fulfill thought, 和前面的with human’s further thinking on this problem, 毕竟在语言上不一样.但你可不可以告诉我这二者有什么本质的差别?

论点是否符合客观情况暂且不谈--只要你有充分合理的论据,你尽可以把削了鼻子的大象说成是进化了的猪.但你没有真么做.通篇都是在自说自话,抽象,跳跃,自相矛盾.

problem是你要论是的关键.既然你想证明人类的进步是一个问题取代另一个问题,那就要把那些问题列出来,说明顺序,是谁取代了谁.从中是否看到了progress而不是简单的讲一下科技发展史.而且这其中还有一些细节的正确性值得商榷
