We refer to your research admission/scholarship application :

Degree Applied : Doctor of Philosophy

Department Applied : Electrical & Computer Engineering



We are pleased to inform you that we have scheduled an interview and essay test for you, the details as follows :



Date for Essay test : 4 March 2013 Monday

Time :   09:00 hr

Venue : Regal Shanghai East Asia Hotel, 800, Lingling Road, Xu Hui District, Shanghai 200030  (please check signage in hotel lobby)



Date for Interview : 4 March 2013 Monday

Time : 11:45 hr

Venue : Same as above



Interviewers : Assoc Prof Yang Kun-lin, CHBE

                         Assoc Prof Poh Kim Leng, ISE
  
  

TOEFL/GRE Scoresheets :

You are to produce the original TOEFL/GRE scoresheet(s) at the interview if you have not submitted the original(s) to us.



The interview will comprise 2 components that you are required to attend :

(A) An essay test, and

(B) An oral interview



The written test will take about one hour and fifteen minutes.  You will be required to write a short essay of about 350 to 400 words on a passage to be given to you.  The topic will be a general one, therefore you need not make preparations for it.



The purpose of the essay test and interview is to assess your English proficiency (written and oral) and also on your suitability to pursue a higher degree programme at the National University of Singapore.



IMPORTANT :



You are required to bring some form of identification, especially one which contains your photograph.



Kindly be informed that we will not reimburse you for the cost of your travel or any other expenses.  Please do not bring any friends along to the interview.  



ACTION REQUIRED FROM APPLICANT :



(1)  If you are attending the scheduled interview and written test, you are required to fill in the attached CV template and bring it with you to the interview/test venue (whichever will take place earlier), to be submitted to the interviewers.  Kindly note that the interviewers require this for reference during the interview.   



(2)  Do reply us to confirm your attendance by 22 February 2013.  If we do not receive your reply, we shall assume that you are no longer interested in seeking admissions/scholarship.  The interview and test slot will be given to another applicant.





NOTE :

In the event of an unexpected delay (eg. flight delays or cancellations/natural disasters/political unrest), our interviewers may not be able to conduct the test/interview scheduled.

(1)  Applicants are advised to check their emails soonest possible for further instructions from our office.  

(2)  Thereafter, to check with the Hotel Banquet Operations for updates.  

(3)  If the interviewers do not arrive after a 3-hours delay OR past 6pm of the same day, applicants may leave the hotel.  Alternatives will be arranged where possible to conduct the event the next day.  Applicants who are unable to return the next day must email our office immediately.
