Dear fellow net friends:

Tomorrow, the BBS for Shanghai Applicants is going to be closed because of lack of care and less and less visitors.

I love this board. I still remember when I first created it, I was happy as a lark. I created it because I hope all those applicants based in Shanghai would find in this virtual community their friends when they need support, comforts when they feel anxious, encouragement when they lose confidence, answers when they feel puzzled, consolation when they feel upset, or just fun when they get tired.

So far, I believe someone did find it helpful, but also I may have disappointed someone. I blame myself for not having given this board enough care to keep it. However, I would like to tell those who have put a lot into this board, such as YOUCC and KMNG, thank you very much for maintaining the board. You guys are much better than me. And I should say it was really a great pleasure to have seen people find what they want here.

When the board was created, I would refresh the page hundreds of times a day to see if there was anything new. I would love to answer people’s questions and love to see they were happy with the answers. I tried to gather Gters in shanghai together, hoping they could discuss their problems in person to get more information. The image of those people standing in the chilly wind, having heated discussion about the applications in front of the Shanghai Museum is still crystal clear in my mind. I also want to thank you for coming to the gather-together. I was really happy to see you there.

One year passed, some of them may already have made their trip to the States, while some are still here. But they are still having their dreams and their ambitions going on. Those difficulties may never daunt them as they hold their faith firmly. And I will pray for you as I have faith in you.

Though this board is closing down, those efforts you have made and the faith you have held so far will stay. I would like to thank all those who have visited this board and those who have left your words for your support and interest.

The New Year is coming which means everything will have a new start. I wish all the applicants in Shanghai and all Gters great success in their applications and those who used to be Gters all the best home and abroad.
