Claim:Governments must ensure that their major cities receives the financial support they need in order to thrive.
Reason:It is primarily in cities that a nation’s culture traditions are preserved and generated.

As comprehensive national strength become the standard of a country, some people propose a conclusion that government should assure financial support for major cities because major cities are primitive places where generate and preserve traditional culture. It is undeniable that culture plays an important role in the booming of a country, and major cities always nurture culture and promote it, but to protect culture, it may be inadequate only assure financial support for major cities .
Culture, playing a significant function for countries, should get support of its development from government; and meanwhile, cities are important as well, ought to be sustained by government.Being the core spirit of a nation, culture,  which construct national ideology, formulate social moral, and constrain behaviors of citizen, is basis of national solidarity and social peace. While a nation share a same culture, whether or not they live together, or under a same social system, would have a same agreement for nation and consistent characteristic. For example, Chinese culture connect with all the decedents of Yan and Huang emperor, wherever they are. As for major cities, it is of great importance in the communication in different culture.Such as New York, while being an international city, activate exchange of culture and as a result promoting the prosperity of culture. Additionally, major cities are always economic center, which need a lot of financial supporting. Country want to thrive may be better to ensure financial supporting to cities. Consequently,we can get a conclusion above that country’s prosperity need its government paying attention to culture and ensuring supporting to major cities.
However,we cannot allege that major cities is the primitive cradle and inheritance of conventional culture. To illustrate, let us consider the example of America. There is numerous village in America, which hold numerous tradition of American culture.New York is indeed represent an aspect of American culture, but it cannot represent the whole. Another instance is in china. Many international friends come to china, to search traditional culture in Chinese streets and alleyways, in landscape, in remote area. By this mean they can experience original Chinese culture, which is more beautiful than that in major cities. So, preserve traditional culture may not only in cities, government should also think highly of the culture outside major cities.
Moreover, value culture is not means enhancing financial support, and it is not enough to protect culture. Government can do it by publicizing the importance of traditional culture, and activate citizens to protect it. Inspired by ethos, people may be more active to preserve it. Furthermore, promote education of national spirits can be more effective to defend relics from destroying than that by political protection and financial methods. Therefore, government want to keep booming in culture can alternately ensure propaganda to protect tradition.
Thus, in order to thrive, countries who guarantee financial support for major cities and emphasis the importance of traditional culture may get better developing. But the reason for doing so is because both play a significant role in developing. And it is inadequate to protect culture and promote comprehensive national strength. Government ought to promote the protection of culture outside major cities, and meanwhile take variety measures to achieve the effect.

谢谢啦~

那再贴一下我的啦
The speaker claim that a warrant should be made that major cities receive financial support in order to develop for the reason that cities preserved one nation’s culture. In my opinion, both the claim and reason do not make sense in view of the importance of abundant rural people and their own culture representing a nation’s distinct culture.

Admittedly, I conceded that major cities play an important role in the prosperity of a nation. By assisting large cities, it will not benefit cities alone, but the whole area around the cities, even the rural area. For example, large amount of money put into medical facility in cities enhance the health care urban people as well as the rural citizens, for they are inclined to go to the hospitals in cities rather than clinics in their own place. So, it is quite a direct way to enhance nation’s power just by having more and more thrived cities.

However, in developing countries like China and India, there are many people who live in poor areas, most of which are rural areas. According to the result found by the World Bank, among the 1.2 billon people who are in the extreme poverty, over 75 percent of them live in rural areas. Compared to major cities, there are enormous gaps in incomes, education, health care, salary standard and work conditions. A wise government should not be blind to realize that gaps. So more funding should be make in that poor areas not the major cities.

Most importantly is the reason that the speaker claims. The speaker unfairly suggests that large cities serve as the primary originated and sanctuaries places for a nation’s cultural traditions. We all know that Egypt, India, Mesopotamia and China, commonly recognized as The Four Great Ancient Civilizations, were originated by farming and hunting long before the cities had been formed. Today, a nation’s distinct cultural traditions— its folk arts, crafts, traditional songs, ceremonies and other intangible cultural heritages— burgeon in small towns and rural regions. Confessedly, big cities are where we deposit and display the world preeminent art, architecture, and music, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Musée du Louvre in Paris, but it has little to do with a nation’s distinct culture.

In the final analysis, the government cannot justify support major cities for the purpose of thriving or preserving the nation’s cultural traditions, because rural areas need to pay more attention to deprive of poverty. Moreover, assisting more on cities have little to do with our distinct cultural traditions.
