答案是C，可我觉得显然是B啊。

第一题，先说第二个，中间的thus表明因果所以应该与前面的spotlight一致，因此是foreground。第一空，说是怎样的文学巨匠使他把兴趣放到其他地方，三个选项中只有lionization符合

33. 第一空lionization与literary giant同义对立；第二空peripheral activities与amateur eutomologist同义对立，因此空格要与has thrown the spotlight on同义对立，选foreground
大致意思是：“把VN捧成北美的文学巨人也突出了他的peripheral activities，从而foreground他作为amateur昆虫学者的efforts。” 跟影视明星的私生活也会受关注一个意思。
