有1年多工作经验的申请金融工程，求定位

HI，希望有经验的XDJM帮忙看看，申请什么位置的商学院，金融工程或者精算啥的。


北交的本科，数学专业，GPA 88, rank top 8%。GRE 1270+3.0
作为队长拿过美国建模一等奖等。

11年本科毕业曾有HKPU的PHD OFFER，因病错失。12年浑浑噩噩过了大五。
毕业工作至今，在中国某家搜索公司广告部门负责广告收入的监控分析预测等（某度)


经历比较凌乱，读博不报希望了，国外深造的想法一直未断，个人对数学模型感兴趣。希望大哥大姐给点建议。

Why not try HKPU again?

I think your work experiences accounts, try to address it in a good way in your SOP.
other than HKPU, you may try all HK universities.
Also, you seems to have a good chance in getting into MsF in University of Marryland and Johns Hopkins University. You may also try some MFE and/or MSQF programs such as MFE in Umich, MSQF in Rutgers and Gatech.
When you are applying for MFE and/or MSQF, the SOP should be treated a little bit differently from MsF.
You should address your mathematical background in the SOP for MFE or MSQF programs.

12年经历比较乱。

12年曾陶瓷成功HKUST计算机系密码学的一个教授，他让我托福90后申请他的phd。

结果当时实在没有着落，某度offer后准备托福懈怠.....结果托福没过....HK phd就暂时拜拜了。

我现在年龄比较大，明天9月走也要25了。现在更多考虑商科的硕士吧

多谢版主指导，康奈尔的MFE有戏没，

学费预算紧张，如果申加拿大，滑铁卢的MFE能否申上，值不值得上？

For Cornell, I think you must get above 22 for each section of TOEFL test.
It's hard to tell, you definitely have a chance to get into Cornell MFE, but no one can make sure that you will get into there. It seems that they prefer top school students in China. Here is a website for your information http://forum.chasedream.com/thread-519597-1-1.html .

Also, I don't know much about Canadian programs, but MFE in U of Waterloo seems to be a decent program. Here is a discussion...
