The humans' history is a process of people studying the nature, utilizing the nature and ultimately improving the society. In facts, what peoples have done is summarizing the facts objectively existing in this world and mastering its regular. So, as students begin to study some subjects, they should place the emphasis on the ideas, trends and concepts rather than just study the facts.

The ideas and the concepts are extracted from numerous objective facts by our forefathers. They are the essences of those facts. For example, the law of air dynamics, which is summarized from many facts of movements in the air, is a classical regular which has been utilized by birds for thousands years. People began to utilize this idea to improve their lives when they interpreted and mastered this idea. From then on, this world began to change: airplane was invented and people began to be able to fly in the sky. If people had just memorized the fact that birds had the ability to fly in the sky, humans today could still only to envy the birds. What enable humans to invent airplane? It is the principle of air dynamics that had inspired humans to invent the airplane. Therefore, mastering and applying the essences of objective things, such as ideas, concepts, etc. are the critical points for humans’ development.

As the students, they have been assumed the task to develop our society. Thus, one of the purposes of study is to master and apply the ideas and concepts which had been summarized by our forefathers. If the students had just know some facts when they graduated from the university, they would not able to handle the practical problems encountered in their work.
Because the facts with a same idea could be definitely different in their appearances. Consequently, students should attach more attention on the ideas and concepts of facts rather than memorize the facts.

On the other hand, the facts were not definitely unavailable. Since the ideas and concepts were extracted from these facts, they would help students interpret and master the ideas easily. That is why teachers are always to cite a few of examples to students when they introduced a new idea or an abstract concept. There are a number of interesting experiments in the physics class. However, if students merely care about the phenomenon but not the principles of these processes, these experiments had no sense for this class. Simply put, students should make full use of the facts cited by the teacher to better assimilate the new idea or the abstract concept.

In conclusion, students should pay more attention to the study of ideas, trends and concepts which are the essences of objective things, and utilize the facts to interpret and master the ideas rather than memorize the facts.
