Personally, I disagree with this statement because teachers can give us better guidance and teachers know more knowledge and information about courses that some friends are not able to gain.
First, there is no doubt that teachers master a course better than students and that’s why they teach students. As so many years teaching and researching a course, of course, teachers gain more knowledge than students, and have so much experience illustrating questions about this course that our friends cannot dig out and own. So usually what teachers tell us are the most appropriate and correct answers. For example, if I have a problem in my homework. Maybe my friend will come up with some fancy and innovative ways to solve it, but what teachers say about this problem are usually easiest and most efficient answers.
Second, not only teachers know more knowledge and hold much more experience, but also they realize what the important parts, difficult points, and examination sections are. So we can gain even more information about this course except the knowledge and experience. Through talking with teachers, we will know what is important knowledge we should really remember, what are difficult points that we should take more time dealing with and manage to overcome, and what are some excess sections that we will not meet in the exam so that we need not spend so much time in and take too much burden from. As for me, I am not a very clever boy to master all the knowledge of a course so I usually ask my teacher what problems I met and what sections are not included in the exam. Then usually I ignore those sections that are not in the exam which really relieve a lot of studying burden.
Last but not least, sometimes we find that it’s easier to communicate with friends because when we face our familiar friends, we are more relaxed to exchange ideas in a more equal situation. So maybe for many students, they like asking helps from their best friends better rather than teachers. In addition, some students say that their friends are so excellent in this course and the advice from their friends even better than teachers’. Actually, indeed some brilliant students are more creative and helpful than teachers, but we have to face the fact that those students are the few and it is very hard for us to find a so ingenious friend, and what’s more, usually most teachers are much better than our friends in various sides.
Taking these factors into consideration, I clearly draw a conclusion that in my opinion, it’s better for students to turn to their teachers rather than their friends for help to deal with those difficulties in courses.
