Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Colleges or Universities should offer more courses to prepare students for the future before they start working.


As the growing competition, an increasing number of students lose job after graduating, so that they lose confident for the life. Numerous unemployed men take an attitude that it is responsible for universities to offer more courses to prepare students for the future before they start working. They think if they learn more skills in the universities, they will find a suitable job easier. Thus, people begin to question whether universities offer more courses is beneficial or harmful. Indeed, controversy has arisen and opinions are divided. However, for my perspective, students learn more in society than university. My reasons are as follows.
Firstly, a lot of courses will make students tired. These poor university students had been through three years of hard work and darkness. They need a relax atmosphere to arouse their creation and imagination. Take my university for instance, it encourage students to exert their potentialities to discover new problem and to try our best to solve the problem. What’s more, we can choose the courses by our own interests. In this surroundings, many students achieve greatly success. Some of them are employed by famous companies in high salary even though they does not graduate.
Secondly, some useless courses waste student’s time to have a part time job. They can accumulate social experience and improve their skills such as communication skill, cooperation skill and so on by working. We live in the age of high technology, not only we should learn knowledge from books, but also should we use what we learn form university to the real life. For example, we all know that when others help us, it is polite to say thanks and if we want to be successful, it is important to cooperate with others. We learn these in elementary school, high school, and even in university. But when we go back to real life not the book, we will find how difficult for us to be polite in some situation and cooperate with others. In a word, society is a best teacher to guide you have a high quality life.
Thirdly, of course, my opponent argue that it is necessary for universities to offer more courses. They hold the view that university courses can expand students knowledge scope. In their eyes, they add that the society is so dangerous, they will face more difficulties to gain experience. Indeed, things like this happen but rarely, the statement of the opponent sounds reasonable, but only to extent. They have forgotten one basic fact that if they have peaceful life in university, how they can know the cruel society deeply. If they have not experienced the trouble in reality, when they graduate, they will have no ability to endure the pressure.
From all above discussion, I should repeat that it’s not a good idea for universities to offer more courses to prepare students for future before they start working. The best way universities should do is to encourage students to do more social activities.
