pretty similar with my previous situation, and that was one of the main reason why I finally decide to quit my job and apply for a graduate course in singapore(as for why must be singapore, that's another story) after considering for more than 1 year.
Looking back now, I'm just too indebted about my previous situation, without which I would never be able to lead a wholly new life now. Actually, nobody was wrong, everyone was just doing their job in their own way, if we don't like it, then it means we need to find somewhere that could make us feel better and practice proves there is always such a place but never imagine anyone or anything is going to change though it happens sometime, leave without hesitation, is the best choice for us, and sometimes we might overweighed something that may not worth a penny at all to hinder our decision making.
Seems you've already made a good choice and about to harvest, big congrats!

I checked again, overall 3/4, last two year 3.08/4, and I have no idea about inflation...
