unwiedy accounting rule--sham transctions (sham 应该是adj. ） 这个如果对比？？ 都是指不好的。
open ---- cloak  这个对比还是比较明显的

但是我觉得不能单纯从这个对比看额 ，corporate malfeasance 和 widely divergent interpretations 貌似就完全不是对比。。。。

所以。。。。。

和最近的财政丑闻不一样，表示两个case的性质不一样，这个case是unwieldy accounting rules，不够精细的解读规则，lead to widely divergent interpretations导致了对规则的分歧解读， 对比的那个case是sham the data（蓄意伪造数据）to cover the malfeasance（来掩饰且也的渎职），一个行为是自己的疏忽，unwieldy acc rule, 对比第二个行为 sham the graph, 罪行对罪行，一个是misconstrued,另外一个是cloak the faults.
p.s sham是verb (sham vs unwieldy accounting)
p.p.s 词性不重要，主要是逻辑。

与金融丑闻不同，这个案子提出的问题与不合理的会计规则有关系，这种会计规则本身表意不清——（也就是说）与用来掩饰渎职的假交易无关。

其实这个句子就是说，这次的问题不是有人故意捣乱，而是规则本身有问题。破折号是对前面的意思的复述。
PS: 做题的时候要是mal那个词不认识也可以，但是要记住mal打头的词一般都是“恶意”相关的。
