38. "In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books."
电视时代的读书已经不像以前那么重要了。人们通过看电视学到的和他们读书所能学到的一样多。
With the development of television technology, is reading books no long as important as it once was? I tend to disagree to(这里应该用with,虽然有agree to这种搭配,但没有disagree to这种说法,另外agree to的词义与agree with也有差别,) the arguer's assertion. Though we can now get more and more information and knowledge from television, the function of books does not yield to that of televisions; and reading books remain quite important in our daily lives.
Admittedly, televisions, which stem from newly born technology of this century, can bring to us a more interesting, impressive, and convenient method of studying at the basis of (应该是on the basis of吧) its advantages. On the one hand, the information provided by televisions is multiply(词性错误,应该用形容词multiple), including characters, image, and sound. The multiply(这是的错误同上) information can inform us more than books do. On the other hand, televisions can convey new knowledge to us far more quickly than books. With respect to the birth of a book, it must cost a lot of time in writing, editing, and publishing. On the contrary, televisions can deliver information in front of us after simple editing, which shortens the waiting time dramatically. Though the televisions act as such a powerful tool for our studies, it has several disadvantages that disable it to surpass the importance of reading books.(个人觉得这一句放在这一段末不太好,有些跑,不如放在下段段首,领起以下三段)
Firstly, televisions base their functions on some objective prerequisites that limit its (这是应该是their吧)popularity. Television needs electricity to run, and signal to perform. If these prerequisites are inaccessible, televisions can bring to us nothing. On the contrary, reading books can be limited less by objective surroundings: enough light is enough.(这里有些重复吧,不如改成Only enough light is needed.)
Secondly, people have few(比较级,这里应该用fewer吧) choices while watching televisions than reading books. We can only receive the programs set for us in advance; and we can seldom regain these programs if we miss them for various reasons. What's more, we can only watch television in the room where the television is set; and we cannot bring televisions with us conveniently nowadays. The situation with books can be different. We can easily bring books with us and read books almost whenever we want to, except some accidental occasions when and where there is no enough light.
Last but not the least, information provided by books tends to be more reliable than that delivered by television. Though televisions have its(这里应该用their) advantage to deliver information quickly, it usually sacrifices some credibility to attractive(这里词性错了,应该是attract,这样的错误不要再出现了:)) more people. For example, once a piece of news bursts out, television will quickly tell us how the affair is going on. However, the information can sometimes be quite deviated and misleading, which will negatively influence our determination. Nevertheless, publishers tend to spend a long time in evaluating and censuring(应该是censor这个词吧) the information the book might convey; and we can usually, if not always, absorb dependable information from books.
To sum up, books remain playing a very important role in our studies. Though television can enhance our studying, we cannot go too far to conclude reading books have yield(reading books的谓语动词应该用单数,另外yield的时态也不对!) to television.
1、题目要求回答谁更important,而在本文第一段并没有明确提出观点,哪一个更重要,或者Both are important;
2、我觉得本文行文较流畅,展开的思路较清晰,每一个段落集中论述一方面内容;
3、但有不少语法错误,尤其是一些单复数,以及简单单词的词性的混淆,让人觉得很可惜,希望作者在以后写作中能有改进:) |
