Nowadays, as our society develops rapidly, people began to rethink the purpose of our education. Some feels that education should provide students with a value system, a standard or a set of ideas while some believe that training for jobs should be put at the first place. However, so far as I am concerned, education should not only place emphasis on knowledge learning but preparing for specific jobs as well.
To start with, education should be full(fully?) aware of its mission to cultivate students' minds. On the one hand, education is required to bring fundamental knowledge to students, including natural sciences(有必要加s吗?我不肯定,问你) and humanities, which are the necessities for every social member to understand. From this perspective, it would be a tragedy for one living in society has no idea regarding how the world works. On the other hand, education should also pay attention to moral disciplines which help to regulate our society as a whole. If not, we would be rejected by the society ruthlessly(好像下面的狼孩的例子不能说明你这个观点吧,他可没被reject,最好在解释一句,比如说他不懂moral discipline,实在那一方面被reject了). The wolf boy found in India could be served(主动)as a good example. Simply put(能告诉我一些这个词组是什么意思吗?呵呵,), the value system and standards that we gradually absorbed under education help to establish a positive self-consciousness as qualified civilians.
In addition, it is also necessary for education to bring skills for living in a competitive society to students. What can I do after graduation? This may be the most frequently asked question among the students facing graduation. Since our society needs various people to undertake specific jobs, graduates are required to learn basic skills or professional techniques to prepare for entering society. It would be just as a disaster to see a society full of uneducated civilians as education only creates cargos of "Einsteins" and "Newtons" who possess merely a world of knowledge but may not fulfill fundamental jobs. Moreover, the competitive society may be just like a big ecosystem, in which those who have been better trained for living would survive at last. Thus, offering relative courses on preparing for specific jobs would greatly benefit students.
Moreover, the education which best balance the ideas of mentally nurturing individuals and practically preparing them for jobs would mostly benefit(s) society. Luckily, we are glad to see that society is becoming more and more rational toward the issue. In some middle schools in China, students are offered with courses concerning several different jobs besides those fundamental ones while in most universities, college students have to be trained to prepare for the future career before graduation. Our society would be excited to embrace all the prospective constructors for not only they have a good background of knowledge for being as social members but also have the ability to make contribution to the community’s prosperity. As it stands, the development of our society requires education to make the sagacious decision that the purpose of education should be introducing students a value system, a standard, a set of ideas along with providing (给谁呀)skills for preparing specific jobs. Were it not the case, any bias on this issue would undoubtedly lead to failure in preparing for citizenship and life at last.
