PhD in Epi/EHS

As a MPH student, I am considering apply for PhD in Epi/EH.

I deeply understand the funding is extremely limited in this field. A match to a faculty in any school would be hard, not mention that I am an international student. So if any PhD students could provide any advice/insight/suggestions about PhD life or future job outlook or anything would be extremely appreciated!

顺便问下lz读一个公卫的MS相对比于MPH在申博上能获得多大的优势？
另外公卫博士的出路一般是什么？

I would not treat a MS different from a MPH. At least in my school, the curriculum for MS and MPH are almost the same. All epi student are offered a MPH degree instead of a MS. Other background such as your master capstone/internship matters much more than the program.

And when I say Ph.D in public health, i really mean phd in epi or ehs because biostat is another story..

Most phd in epi/ehs would go for research institutions or academia, some of them go for consulting. That's basically all i know.

那么流病的同学有机会转到生统方面么，在硕士期间或者是申博的时候？
学校允不允许？

possible but rarely be seen

From master in Epi/EHS to PhD in Biostat is nearly impossible. If you don't take a lot of hard core stat classes, you won't be competitive.
It really depends on school...Ask the office about transfer/double program.
