原题：
The following appeared in a memo from the director of student housing at Buckingham Collage.

"To serve the housing needs of our student, Buckingham College should build a number of new dormitories. Buckingham's enrollment is growing and, based on current trends, will double over the next 50 years, thus making existing dormitory space inadequate. Moreover, the average rent for an apartment in our town has risen in recent years. Consequently, students will find it increasingly difficult to afford off-campus housing. Finally, attractive new dormitories make prospective students more likely to enroll at Buckingham."

Write a response in which you discuss what specific evidence is needed to evaluate the argument and explain how the evidence would weaken or strengthen the argument.

结论：Buckingham College should build a number of new dormitories.
论据：1.Buckingham's enrollment is growing and, based on current trends, will double over the next 50 years, thus making existing dormitory space inadequate.
2. Moreover, the average rent for an apartment in our town has risen in recent years.
3. Consequently, students will find it increasingly difficult to afford off-campus housing.
4.Finally, attractive new dormitories would make prospective students more likely to enroll at Buckingham.

In this argument, the arguer concludes that Buckingham College should construct a lot of new dormitories. To substantiate the conclusion, the arguer points out that the enrollment rate and average rent for an apartment nearby have increased during these years. In addition the arguer assumes that the more fancy dormitories set up, the more students will enroll at Buckingham. A careful examination of this argument would reveal how groundless it is. No evidence could indicate that students's attitude about the dormitory,  how many percent of students are needed live dormitories and the main reason why students apply for Buckingham College.

    "For many years the city of Grandview has provided annual funding for the Grandview Symphony. Last year, however, private contributions to the symphony increased by 200 percent and attendance at the symphony's concerts-in-the-park series doubled. The symphony has also announced an increase in ticket prices for next year. Given such developments, some city commissioners argue that the symphony can now be fully self-supporting, and they recommend that funding for the symphony be eliminated from next year's budget."
     Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation and the argument on which it is based are reasonable. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation.

结论：The symphony can now be fully self-supporting, and they recommend that funding for the symphony be eliminated from next year's budget.
论据：
        1. For many years the city of Grandview has provided annual funding for the Grandview Symphony.

In this argument, the commissioners recommend that subsidy should be removed form next year because they are self-sustaining. In addition, the arguer assumes that they earn enough from concert which the price will be raised and attendance rate doubled, and apart from receiving financial support from city of Grandview, they also accepted money form privates. A careful examination of this argument would reveal how groundless it is. The arguer fails to address a question regarding the  exactly quantity of funding as well as spectator.
