I haven't finished the whole thing yet. But i think i like American English. Maybe because I found it more interesting, and different from what we have learnt at school. but it seems the tones are more difficult for us to imitate.

Just say a bit more. I think it has been mentioned above as well, but didn't emphasize enough.
When i just came, I found that everyone like to say "what's up?"when they meet and especially when on phone.
In the beginning I thought it is not very polite cause it seems you cannot call him/her unless you have some special thing. But it's just kinda everyday greeting.
When they meet their friends, they seldom say "Hi" or "Hello". Instead, they will say "how are you doing" or "how is it going?" British people will say "how's your day" as well.
I was puzzled in the beginning and did not know how to answer properly. And one American friend just say, for "What's up?", you can say "nothing". For "how are you doing", usually answer "Good!"
now i am being more creative, actually you can answer a lot of things. It's also a good greeting to start a conversation. In the free lunch at school here, it ran out of soup when I got there. When the staffs asked me how I was doing, I said "Hungry!" And they all laughed.
