录取信上关于此项目不是也不为PHD的详细说明：
The MAE program has a separate curriculum from the Michigan Ph.D. program, specialized for the interests of our master’s students. The MAE program is not a gateway into the doctoral program. Courses designed for the MAE program are more applied than the courses for our Ph.D. students, and in fact students in the MAE program are not eligible to take most of the courses that are offered in our Ph.D. program. Nor does your presence in the MAE program give you any particular advantage should you decide to apply for entry into the Michigan Ph.D. program in economics. You should enter the MAE program only if you truly want to earn the Applied Master’s degree regardless of what your ultimate objectives may be.
