Living in such a world with rocketing development of technology, people must have been thought to enjoy much convenience so they should have more leisure time. However, as far as I am concerned, the purpose of technological advancement is not concentrated only on increasing people's efficiency but also on meeting human beings' curiousness[=> curiosity] by exploring unknown realms, to have more leisure time is not an inevitable byproduct of either.[后半句主语用不定时标目的,而leisure time是结果,再斟酌]
Foundationally, a probe would find out that technology advancement firstly result from the endeavors to offer useful tools to increase people's efficiency. The basic technology revolution somewhat could be pointed to[? =>considered as] " the first great step", that [=>in which]ancient people had learned to use simple tools other than their hands since they realized that some jobs were far beyond their capability or they could only do in a quite time-consuming way without the help of tools. So somehow like the prime instruments[=>tools, instruments感觉太现代化了], almost every advancement human beings have made is based on the needs of living better.[leading a better life] For example, the sewing machine helps people accelerate their speed to do sewing; computer is a great invention to solve problems which would take a mathematician over one or even more years before[=>to accomplish in the past]. As the same, Watt's steamer in 18th century was not only an engine of a boat or a train but also a motor to a more efficient time. Those technological advancements, to some extent, are all created on the purpose to liberate people from laborious jobs. [举例比较贴切,能排比一下更佳]
这段讲technology development improve people’s efficiency
Another goal of the technological advancement lies in meeting human being's innate curiousness.[=>curiosity ] People are born with a curious sense about [+the] unknown matters, no matter they are ultimately found to be dangerous or boring. [curiosity 怎么会最后变得boring? 请赐教]Such curiousness sometimes acts as a motivation[impetus 如何?motivation 一般是对人而言] of a new advancement of technology. For instance, if people, enveloping Brother Whites,[莱特兄弟不是这个,具体我也忘了,查道再贴上来] were not so eager to why human beings can not fly as the birds do, there would no such great and significant invention, airplane, appear. [这句有问题,你是要写他们发明airplane吧]Also, if it were postulated that there is no curiousness on the situation out of the earth where human beings live, astronautics would not be so developed to send Armstrong to the moon. In brief, some advancements of technology are somehow impulsed by people's curiosity.
这段是meets curiosity
However, no matter how the technological advancements arouse up, spurred by the needs or by the curiosity, they do greatly change the people' life style, but not necessarily a more leisure one. Sometimes, they do make people even much busier than ever before. Certainly, there are numerous examples to show how people are influenced by the technological advancements and are made idle since plenty of machines have taken over them on doing many jobs[?wrong expression] and convenient transports have saved so much time for them, but the same is the opposite examples. Living in a time with highly advanced technology, people have to pay more time to learn much[ +than before] to keep the pace with it, and make them not be washed out from their work positions. And what is more, they also have to arrange matters compactly in a single day since with the machines' help[the help of machines 一般这么用吧], a single matter would take less time than before. People are really more efficient but to try to catch up the speed of machines even makes them busier.
这段先讲人们leisure time 是由于machines & convenient transportation; busier 是由于have to learn more , & tight schedule
In sum, the goal of technological advancement does not only stand on the single point to increase people's efficiency, also it results from the curiousness of human beings sometimes. With the convenience brought about by the innovations, people are more efficient but one cannot take granted that they will have more leisure time.
[结尾总结得挺好]

感觉逻辑比较完整,个别语言再推敲。
我正准备今天夜里写这篇,先帮你评了,等写完可能会更客观些:)
