闲谈：gay 还是lesbian?

??这几天看到samyty的帖子，觉得挺有意思，我也把我认为有趣的东西和大家分享一下。今天先讲这个：
　　
　　Gay 我以前一直以为gay是指男同性恋，女的要用lesbian， 后来发现非也，老美也可以说：她是gay. 大概gay 也可以通用为homosexual。就是有一点，不知道女权主义者有没有提出异议，说要分开用。想想以前很多词，比如postman, policeman, chairman, milkman之类的词大都受到了质疑，甚至包括history, 凭什么历史就只是his story？好像是有点道理，不过这个词最终还是没有改成history/herstory, 或是干脆 peoplestory,。
　　
　　Third sex: 同性恋的隐讳说法。不知道问什么，这个词总是让我想起“不男不女”，对不起，我没有贬低同性恋的意思。科学研究说，性取向是天生的，违反天性肯定特别痛苦，所以我支持他/她们追求自身identity的权利。
　　
　　Straight: 你如果不是gay, 那就是straight了，男女都适用，传统典型的性取向。-----险些忘了，还有bisexual, 双性恋，最近听说小贝的夫人是bi。
　　
　　还有一些同性恋，喜欢男扮女装，或是女扮男装，前者叫drag queen, 后者叫drag king.
　　
　　据说男同性恋（扮女角的那方）一般都比较会打扮，大概是因为对女性心理比较熟悉一点的缘故。美国还有个非常有名的节目，叫Queer Eye for the Straight Guy，每星期就有一些gay men教那些比较土的straight men 一些很小资的东西，比如说怎么穿衣服，怎么样吃得有品位等等。但是如果是straight, 而且在穿衣，吃饭等方面还比较有品位的话，那就说这个人 metro sexual，这个词好像还比较新，很多美国人都不知道，但是大学生说得比较多。我猜想metro这个词是不是从metropolitan中取过来的，在纽约大街上看到的男性打扮绝对要比小地方的时尚多了，性感指数当然也高一些。胡乱猜想而已。

O ! You know so much about gay ,lesbian and bisexcul . I think homesexul now became a very important culture, as you said ,especially in metropolitan. People in big cities are more tolerant and  they can accept more new things. I think that is maybe one of   reasons why more people chose to make a living in big cities.

The last sentence of your comment is so amusing. That may serve a good stand point for one TOEFL essay that has the exactly same  topic.:)

the appearence of homosexual relation is a great progress of the society.Maybe the happiness is from pusuiting what people really want.Since the homosexual relation involves the innate factor,to be homesexual is the happiness of them.I like metropolitan because it emphysise the human right,free behavior and open mind

i agree tolerance for any special likes is a good sign for a democratic society; but i do not say any special likes is good.somewhat like, i totally agree to you have the right to say ;yet i totally disagree with what you say.
