2016 Fall MFE 恳请大家帮帮忙~~~

之前对自己的定位和目标一直不明确，多亏了坛子里有位大神指点，本来一直盲目的想申econ，现在觉得MFE更适合我一些~

特来发帖求助，如有不当之处求轻拍，保证不删帖。希望有经验的前辈们能多多指点~！特别感谢！！！

目标：
1.MFE（preferred），另外 econometrics / financial economics也感兴趣~~
2.世界各地都可以
3.希望能在毕业后直接找工作，留在那里或者回国都可以~~~
4.budget constraint：RMB 30~40w 再高要是项目值得的话也可以考虑，最好性价比高一点啦~~~

学校背景：财经类高校
专业：经济学
GPA：3.5+

课程：
数分，线代，概率论与数理统计
中级微观，中级宏观，博弈论，国际经济学

G：Q170 V162 AW4.5，
IELTS： overall：7.5

关于文章什么的本科阶段实在是没写什么，只有一些课程的期末论文或者project
research倒是帮助老师做过两个，其中一个是跟着项目，另一个就相当于水水的助研

获奖：人民奖学金
推荐信：院内老师吧 无牛腿

if you are telling me you cannot hold it while you just read the econ版 of gter and will cry if you are gonna to read the finance page......good luck.

originally what I want to say that is.....also read all the related post in chasedream, and definitely also some more English based forum like uk student room, urch, WSO, Wilmot.......well, in additional to the official site (program structure, course description (and thus how is each course useful, and for what area), placement record if any, faculty list, ranking from various point of view....)

it won't be difficult for me to point out a list of program worth consideration, but given that I am not absolutely clear about your career goal, so at the end the selection of program replies on yourself.

the process of thinking what one wants, and what is need for that, is a process of thinking about own strength and weakness, and technically speaking, is a process of knowing the academics structure of the discipline. No one can do this for you. good luck.

following list of program is just for reference, I stay no view of which one is good / bad on it currently since no measure is given. Really lock a field before school selection else you will have a too long list to follow.

我也不会放弃自己啦~~~chasedream这几天看了看 剩下您推荐的网站我也都会去看 感觉都好高大上-.-

the only comment on this list is:
McGill can be out as it is not famous for business / economics / FE, HKUST should be around similar level as NUS if not better, UWM is not a target and not a named school for FE, i.e. out.

Hi 大神， 我想问问UCL CS下面的computational finance怎么样，这个好像跟一般的金工课程设置不太一样，是不是比较偏向量化交易方向（P QUANT）？

yup, kind of so.

kind of combination of computer + a bit finance, sounds like machine learning and whatever computational statistics / big data or whatever with application in finance. generally counted as a part of the P side.

I have a bit doubt on the difficulties / depth of it as "Programming experience is not mandatory".........

你好，我看过你之前的帖子，感觉前辈对MFE非常了解，想问一下能否推荐一个国外学校给我，对应的MFE项目中数学和计算机课程稍微弱一些，主要偏金融一些的，我个人是金融本出身，虽然想读MFE，但是知道自己的弱势，如果有这样的院校的话，还望不吝赐教，谢谢

I guess it depends on what do you mean by "数学和计算机课程稍微弱一些".......
