11.13 34天复习 V155 Q168 主要是谈谈感受

楼主已经大四了，现在正在忙着申请，10月决定再去考一次G，于是买了Magoosh便重新走上了 背单词->刷题->复习->背单词 这样的考G之路。

这次是最后一次考G了，这个成绩对于自己的申请已经够了。主要说说这次考试带来的一些启发。

单词：1.3000是基础，但是3000这本书上的释义对于现在来说不是很有用，要留意单词在不同语境中出现的意思。

2.这次填空题出现了一些合成词，比如like-minded，dewy-eyed然后填空的选项不只是单词，还有短语。单空题的选项单词难度大于双空和三空。双空和三空主要考察逻辑对应关系，所以双空和三空题的选项更多是由短语组成的。注意每个选项的意思之间的区别。

3.建议平时多阅读，掌握GRE单词在不同语境中的用法。

长难句：长难句多出现在双空题、三空题，以及阅读题的一些重要段落中。战略上理解长难句，主要就是理解长难句中的重要信息：它们包括 句子的语气是褒义还是贬义，句子主要叙述的对象(subject)，句子之间的语气变化 (shift in tone)

战术上：最重要的： 多读多读多读（重要事情说三遍），先把量弄上去，然后再去提高质量，（有点类似debug）。

方法论：a.时间不够的话，找句子的主语和谓语动词。找到这两个，句子的结构基本上出来了

b.平时练习长难句理解：抓主干，理修饰。 英语句子句内各个成分之间的排列顺序跟汉语不完全一样，前期练习长句理解的时候，可以在草稿纸上把句子写下来，然后用笔一步一步写清楚各成分之间的修饰关系。


这里举两个例子
i) On the other hand,he did not accept as well founded the charge made by some of his critics that while he was a good observer, he had no power of reasoning.

这个句子就是把 as well founded 提前了，well founded 是一个复合形容词，表示很有依据的意思。其实是 he did not accept the charge made by some of his critics that while .... as well founded.

ii) It's a sad but just indictment of some high school history textbooks that they frequently report as (i)_____ claims that historians hotly debate or that are even completely(ii)_____ by(iii)______ primary sources.

B.controversial                                     E.corroborated                                       H.incomplete
C.sensational                                       F.contradicted                                        I.reliable

这个verbal150上的三空题， report as ____ claims that..... 这里 出题人刚好把 as 后面的那个形容词给挖掉了。 然后这个形容词 不是跟claims 搭配的，而是 report claims that ..... as(i) _____（这个形容词）

不是factual claims, 而是 report claims as factual。

不完全懂的长难句一定要去问清楚，不要留下疑问。

关于阅读：时间比较紧，基本上都拿去刷题了，然后一些不懂的题也在论坛上提了问。

阅读不仅仅是被动理解字面意思，还需要对文章中获得的信息进行推理，从而才能解题。

OG上对于阅读理解的要求是这样的：

• understanding individual words, sentences, paragraphs and larger bodies of text
• distinguishing between minor and major points
• summarizing a passage

数学： 哎，楼主中学数学不太好。 168还是很满意了（不要嫌弃）。  

maths convention 和 maths review 很重要，考点都在里面。
仔细审题，题目有陷阱。

感觉概率题有点难。。。。

总的来说GRE 付出了是有回报的，备考过程很辛苦，但是不管是对于英文实力的提高、还是对于做事态度的锻炼，都是值得的。

作文题：
issue 是

Claim: Imagination is a more valuable asset than experience.

Reason: People who lack experience are free to imagine what is possible without the constraints of established habits and attitudes.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim and the reason on which that claim is based.

argument：

The following memorandum is from the business manager of Happy Pancake House restaurants.

"Recently, butter has been replaced by margarine in Happy Pancake House restaurants throughout the southwestern United States. This change, however, has had little impact on our customers. In fact, only about 2 percent of customers have complained, indicating that an average of 98 people out of 100 are happy with the change. Furthermore, many servers have reported that a number of customers who ask for butter do not complain when they are given margarine instead. Clearly, either these customers do not distinguish butter from margarine or they use the term 'butter' to refer to either butter or margarine."

Write a response in which you discuss one or more alternative explanations that could rival the proposed explanation and explain how your explanation(s) can plausibly account for the facts presented in the argument.
