PhD student position at Clemson Bioengineering:

One  Ph.D. research assistantship  is  immediately available in  the department of
Bioengineering. The position will provide a great opportunity for students who have
interests in applying advanced optical microscopy imaging techniques to studying molecular
machinery of cardiac physiology. The student will be co-advised by two labs: The South
Carolina Cardiac Signaling Research Center, directed by Dr. Martin Morad, and Nano- and
Functional Imaging Lab (NFIL), directed by Dr. Tong Ye. Technological development and

biophysics training background with B.S. or Master degrees in  physics  or  electrical
engineering, are encouraged to apply.  Prior experiences in optical system design, building
two-photon/confocal laser scanning fluorescence microscope, light-sheet microscopy, STED
microscopy, programming skills in advanced LabVIEW, C/C++ and Matlab, electrophysiology,
and Calcium imaging, would be highly preferred. Both labs are located on MUSC campus in
the beautiful coastal and historic city of Charleston, SC. The interested students should send
