this is not strange at all:
HKU MEcon famous for their less mathematical, and easier program structure (when compared to a normal MSc), e.g. their core micro, macro, metric class are all at senior bachelor instead of master level, unless you upgrade them to Theory class yourself.
therefore, it is a prefect choice for those who were not in economics, but wanna switch to economics. those who has a solid background in math & econ wont waste time on those easy Micro/Macro Analysis class (which are indeed intermediate micro/macro).
