How strong is the ref letter? How "big" is the big name? Is your RA related to OM/SCM? What did you do for the RA?

In highly quantitative/"math" fields like SCM, the value-added of your working experience is oftentimes marginal, and a low GPA is a very bad signal. Typically a decent school will require a minimum GPA of 3.0. Now you fail to demonstrate your strong quant skills by a good GPA (and your major is Accounting! How many math/stat/econ/CS courses did you take?). The only chance for you is to brag about your research experience.

Thanks for your reply and suggestions - frankly I dont have a strong research background, to be more specific it's nothing more than one semester working as ra under a microecon prof during soph year; I've been working on startup projects since highschool and throughout uni and even after graduation and these projects are closely related to logistics and supply chain, one reason why I'm switching from Accounting to LSCM. Also I graduated uni in 3 years not sure if that helps in anyway. Would it help if I explain why my GPA is low in my PS and put it in connection with my startup work and working experience? And if I go for Top 70 instead of Top 50, would that be a more plausible aim? Thanks again.
